Business Development Research Analyst/ Coordinator to be based in Swindon for a Tier 1 Civil Engineering Contractor.

Company Overview:

My client is a leading international civil engineering company, specialising in complex market segments such as Transportation, Energy, Tunnelling, Building, Civil and Structural Engineering. This role will be to support Marketing and Business Development functions with communications, business planning research, opportunity and prospect sourcing, CRM database coordination and population, exhibition and awards identification.

Role Overview:

The purpose of the Business Development Researcher position is to identify and evaluate new infrastructure projects, market trends, and client opportunities. You will bridge the gap between technical teams and commercial growth by analysing public data, monitoring competitor positioning, and building the pipelines required to secure profitable project contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor tender portals, industry bulletins, and regional capital improvement plans to identify upcoming civil and infrastructure projects ahead of formal RFQs.
  • Research competitor services, track records, and pricing strategies, while assessing growth drivers and project challenges for target local authorities and private developers.
  • Support the wider work-winning team by coordinating PQQs, organising bid documentation, and compiling technical project histories.
  • Maintain CRM systems to track client interactions, live bids, and sales pipeline value.
  • Identify and research relevant exhibitions, conferences, and awards to raise market visibility and help business development managers secure client meetings.
