About Us

Planning & Design Group is a planning and urban design consultancy working on projects across the UK, from strategic land promotion and new neighbourhoods to regeneration and placemaking initiatives. Through planning, masterplanning and urban design, we help shape places that respond positively to their context and the communities they serve.

Our work influences the future of places, from new homes and communities to town centre regeneration, employment sites, rural development and placemaking. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a driven, creative and commercially minded Marketing & Business Development Executive to help us communicate that work, strengthen our profile and support the continued development of the practice.

Working closely with the Directors and wider professional team, you will play an important role in showcasing our projects, promoting the business and supporting activities that help build relationships, create opportunities and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.

The Role

This is a varied early-career role offering exposure to marketing, communications, networking, bids and business development.

The role would suit someone with energy, initiative and a genuine interest in helping a growing consultancy raise its profile and win new work. You may be a recent graduate, or you may already have some experience in marketing, communications, digital media, business support or a related role. Either way, we are looking for someone who is organised, proactive, curious and keen to develop.

This is not just a marketing support role. It is an opportunity to build broad experience across content, digital marketing, business development, bids, events and emerging tools such as AI, with support from an experienced senior team. We are looking for someone who wants to learn, contribute ideas and gradually take on more responsibility as their confidence and understanding of the business grows.

In the early stages, the focus will be on learning the business, understanding our projects and clients, supporting existing marketing and business development activity, and building confidence across key systems and processes. As the role develops, there will be opportunities to take greater ownership of content planning, campaigns, client engagement, events, bids and wider business development initiatives.

You will also help us explore how emerging digital tools, including AI, can be used sensibly and effectively within the business. This may include supporting content creation, improving creative output, helping with website performance, streamlining research and identifying practical ways to improve day-to-day workflows. We are looking for someone who is curious about new technologies, keen to test practical applications and interested in how digital tools can support creativity, efficiency and continuous improvement across the business.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
