MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS DIRECTOR | BIRMINGHAM

📍 Birmingham City Centre
💰 £50,000–£60,000 DOE
🏢 Senior / Director Level
👥 Managing a small marketing & communications team

I’m working with an established and growing healthcare business in Birmingham City Centre who are looking for a commercially minded Marketing & Communications Director to take ownership of their marketing, communications and brand activity.

This is a hands-on senior role for someone who can combine B2B marketing, digital, social, content and external communications with the ability to shape and develop a brand. You’ll work closely with the Company Director, helping to define the marketing and communications strategy while also being very much involved in the day-to-day delivery.

The role

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Developing and delivering the overall marketing & communications strategy
  • Leading digital, social media and content activity across the business
  • Owning external communications and helping to strengthen the company's profile and reputation
  • Developing engaging social and digital content across relevant channels
  • Supporting a wider brand refresh, ensuring the company's positioning, messaging and visual identity are consistent
  • Creating and managing content, campaigns and communications for B2B audiences
  • Identifying opportunities to improve digital engagement, reach and brand awareness
  • Managing and mentoring two junior members of the marketing/communications team
  • Working closely with the Company Director and wider senior team
  • Managing external agencies and suppliers where required
  • Tracking activity and using data/insight to continually improve performance

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Most importantly, you’ll be someone who is strategic enough to shape the direction of the function but hands-on enough to roll up your sleeves and deliver it.

This isn't a role where you'll simply manage an agency or delegate everything to a team. You'll have genuine ownership across marketing and communications and the opportunity to make a visible impact on the business.

The opportunity

A great opportunity for an ambitious senior marketing/comms professional who wants autonomy, influence and genuine ownership within an established healthcare business.
