About Us
Christ Church Spitalfields is a growing church community in East London. Together we seek to Follow Jesus, Build Life Together, and Renew East London. Our marketing and communications exist for one purpose: to invite people to join in with what God is doing in this part of the city.
About the Role
We are looking for a creative, organised communicator to lead how Christ Church Spitalfields tells its story. You will run our social media, keep the website current, send the weekly newsletter, and design printed and digital materials. You will also lead campaigns for the key moments in our church life, such as Alpha, Easter and Christmas.
You will work closely with our staff team and ministry leads to plan campaigns, understand who we are trying to reach, create designs and publish content. This is a hands-on role with room to grow into building and leading a strong volunteer creative team.
Terms & Conditions
- Hours: Part-time, 3 days per week (0.6 FTE, 24 hours), including Tuesdays and Sundays
- Salary: £30,000 pro rata per annum
- Annual Leave: 33 days pro rata, including statutory bank holidays
- Contract: Permanent with a 3 month probationary period
A part of Sunday will form some of your 24 working hours, not an addition to them. Tuesday will be required as a full day, when we have team meetings. The other working days are flexible by agreement with your line manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Marketing Strategy and Campaigns
Your main focus is designing and delivering campaigns for the key moments in church life (Alpha, Easter, Christmas and others), alongside our regular weekly communications. This includes:
- Working with ministry leads to plan and deliver campaigns for major events
- Developing a communications strategy across all ministries, with a clear sense of who each one is trying to reach
- Overseeing the design of assets for print and digital use, including sermon series branding
- Owning the church brand and making sure it is used consistently across all communications and signage in the building
- Reporting simply on what is working (reach, sign-ups, attendance) so we can learn from each campaign

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
