Marketing and Communications Manager

An established UK private equity investor with more than two decades of consistent capital growth behind it is making its first dedicated marketing and communications hire. Backing high-quality, management-led businesses across technology, business services, healthcare and education, the firm has a proven playbook for turning strong companies into genuine sector leaders, often through ambitious buy-and-build strategies, and a long record of successful exits to match. Its culture is a real differentiator: collaborative, low ego and refreshingly non-hierarchical, with a straightforward, entrepreneurial way of working that founders and investors consistently value. As the firm enters its next chapter of growth and fundraising, the Marketing and Communications Manager will establish the function and build it from the ground up, shaping how its story is told to investors, founders, media and future talent. Working closely with a small, senior partnership, this is a rare opportunity to combine strategic counsel with hands-on delivery across earned, owned and executive communications, and to leave a lasting mark on a highly respected brand.

Role

  • Lead the firm's media relations across the deal and portfolio cycle, from new investments and realisations to leadership appointments and company milestones
  • Develop a consistent programme of proactive media and profile activity between transactions, keeping the firm visible outside the deal calendar
  • Raise the external profiles of the partners and senior team through bylines, commentary, speaking platforms and personal positioning
  • Partner with investor relations to craft the narrative, positioning and supporting materials for the firm's next fundraise
  • Own the firm's website and search performance, ensuring digital channels articulate its positioning clearly to investors, founders and other key audiences
  • Set and protect the firm's tone of voice, maintaining consistency across all marketing collateral and external communications
  • Design crisis and issues frameworks in advance, and take the lead on response when live situations emerge
  • Advise and support portfolio companies on their communications, ensuring their activity complements the firm's broader narrative
  • Maximise the value of events the firm hosts or attends, creating content and amplification that extends their impact well beyond the day
  • Produce employer brand and talent content that strengthens hiring both within the firm and across the portfolio

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
