About The Role
Marketing and Communications Manager – Maritime Transport
Full-time, Permanent
London, Aberdeen or Knutsford, Hybrid working
The Role
Are you a creative storyteller, strategic thinker and communications expert who thrives on making an impact? We're looking for a Marketing & Communications Manager to lead Maritime Transport's marketing and communications agenda, helping to shape how we engage with colleagues, customers and the wider industry.
In this influential role, you'll develop and deliver integrated marketing and communications strategies that strengthen our brand, support commercial growth and enhance stakeholder engagement. You'll bring divisional priorities to life through compelling campaigns, engaging content and reputation-building initiatives, ensuring our messages are clear, consistent and aligned to business objectives.
Working across the division and wider James Fisher Group, you'll play a key role in embedding the One James Fisher approach, building awareness of our capabilities and creating meaningful connections with internal and external audiences. From strategic planning and brand development to content creation and stakeholder communications, you'll help position Maritime Transport as a trusted and forward-thinking industry leader.
What You'll Be Doing
- Build trusted relationships across key stakeholders to align priorities and drive business outcomes.
- Lead and develop a high-performing marketing team, ensuring strong delivery and capability growth.
- Create and deliver integrated marketing and communications plans aligned to business objectives.
- Drive brand awareness and commercial growth through targeted, measurable marketing activity.
- Deliver engaging internal communications that support alignment, engagement and culture.
- Strengthen reputation through effective media, thought leadership and external communications.
- Lead digital marketing and content optimisation to improve reach, engagement and conversion.
- Ensure compliance with brand standards, policies and regulatory requirements.
- Champion a strong safety culture through clear and consistent communications.

What We're Looking For
- Degree-qualified or equivalent experience in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Business Management or a related field.
- Significant experience in B2B communications, PR or a similar stakeholder-facing role.
- Experience working in matrix organisations and complex, technical or global markets preferred.
- Strong media relations expertise, ideally within technical or industrial sectors.
- Excellent content creation and writing skills across multiple channels.
- Strategic mindset with experience partnering with commercial and operational teams.
- Proven track record in omnichannel marketing, digital performance and brand campaigns.
- Willingness to travel internationally as required.
