Marketing and PR Coordinator

Purpose of Role
The Marketing and PR Coordinator will provide practical coordination and creative support across the Marketing & PR Team, helping to connect the team’s specialist functions and ensure projects and campaigns are delivered effectively. Working across design, digital, communications, PR, and internal communications, the postholder will coordinate activity, produce and adapt branded materials, support campaigns and events, and provide additional capacity to the team’s specialists where required.
The role will also provide practical support for the Trust’s internal digital platforms, including the portal, during periods of development and transition.
The role will require someone who is highly organized, digitally confident, and creatively capable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, build strong relationships across the Trust, and take work forward independently. The postholder will play an important role in ensuring that the Marketing & PR Team provides a responsive, consistent, and high-quality service to academies and central teams across Co-op Academies Trust.
Key Accountabilities (and Specific Duties / Responsibilities)
1. Team Coordination and Project Support
- Coordinate activity across the Marketing & PR Team, helping to ensure that projects, campaigns, and requests are appropriately planned, prioritized, and delivered.
- Act as a key point of contact between academies, central teams, and the relevant Marketing & PR specialist.
- Support the Head of Marketing & PR and specialist colleagues with the coordination and delivery of Trust-wide projects, campaigns, and communications activity.
- Manage agreed projects and workstreams independently, maintaining clear actions, timelines, and deadlines.
- Identify dependencies, potential issues, and competing priorities, escalating these where appropriate.
- Maintain shared project plans, schedules, resources, and systems to support effective team working.
- Provide practical support and additional capacity across the team during periods of high demand.
- Help to identify opportunities to improve team processes, systems, and ways of working.
2. Design and Creative Production
- Create, adapt, and prepare high-quality branded materials for Trust and academy communications, campaigns, events, and other activities.
- Support the Graphic and Web Designer with the development, adaptation, and production of creative assets.
- Produce digital and print materials using Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or equivalent design tools.
- Support the development and maintenance of branded templates, presentation materials, and other reusable creative assets.
- Ensure that materials are accurate, accessible, and consistent with the Trust’s brand guidelines.
- Coordinate the ordering, organization, and distribution of branded merchandise, printed materials, and other campaign collateral.
- Provide practical creative support to colleagues across the Marketing & PR Team as required.

3. Digital and Portal Support
- Provide practical support to the Graphic and Web Designer in the management and development of the Trust’s portal and other internal digital platforms.
- Support the collection, preparation, and publication of content from central teams and academies.
- Help colleagues to use internal digital platforms effectively, providing guidance and practical support where required.
- Assist with content reviews, updates, testing, and the implementation of improvements.
- Help maintain organized digital content, assets, templates, and shared resources.
- Support the team during the development, implementation, and transition to new internal digital platforms or systems.
4. Campaigns and Events
- Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of Trust-wide and academy campaigns, including recruitment, reputation, and engagement activity.
- Coordinate campaign materials, actions, timelines, and approvals across the Marketing & PR Team and relevant stakeholders.
- Support the planning and delivery of Trust and academy events, including logistics, attendee information, literature, merchandise, and other materials.
- Attend events where required, providing practical, creative, and organizational support.
- Support the production and coordination of event and campaign content, including basic photography and short-form video where appropriate.
- Help to ensure that campaign and event activity is delivered consistently and in line with the Trust’s brand and communications objectives.
5. Communications and Digital Marketing Support
- Support the production, adaptation, and publication of content across Trust websites, social media, email, internal communications, and other digital channels.
- Assist specialist colleagues with the preparation of content, creative assets, and supporting materials for digital marketing campaigns.
- Support the Digital Marketing Executive with agreed campaign activity, including the coordination of assets, content, and basic reporting.
- Assist with the preparation of communications materials, newsletters, briefings, and other content as required.
- Provide practical support to the storytelling and PR function where required, including research, content preparation, event support, and coordination.
- Use basic analytics, feedback, and engagement data to support the review and improvement of communications and digital activity.

6. Brand, Resources, and General Support
- Support the consistent application of the Trust’s brand identity across communications, campaigns, events, and materials.
- Maintain organized systems for creative assets, templates, merchandise, and other Marketing & PR resources.
- Keep up to date with relevant developments in marketing, communications, design, digital platforms, and content production.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across the Trust, building effective relationships with academy and central teams.
- Contribute to a responsive, flexible, and high-quality service from the Marketing & PR Team.
- Undertake other reasonable duties consistent with the nature and level of the role.
