Marketing and Student Recruitment Assistant (Fixed Term)
Role
This is an entry level role that will give successful candidates the opportunity to develop skills and experience across a range of marketing and student recruitment functions – including face-to-face outreach, events, digital marketing, content creation, customer service, customer relationship management and more.
The role is suitable for anyone seeking to develop a career in marketing, communications, lead generation recruitment or higher education – whether you are a recent graduate, a career changer or someone already in an entry-level position seeking a change.
Duties and responsibilities might include:
- Supporting the planning and delivery of student recruitment outreach on campus and in schools and colleges
- Responding to prospective student enquiries across a range of communication channels
- Analysing data and preparing reports to support decision-making
- Contributing to initiatives that enhance the applicant and prospective student experience
- Assisting with the organisation of, and supporting delivery of, open days, applicant days, school visits, exhibitions, recruitment fairs, external shows and corporate events
- Supporting the planning and delivery of integrated marketing campaigns
- Planning and creating engaging content for digital channels
- Developing Customer Relationship Management and email marketing skills
- Tracking the future student journey and identify opportunities to improve engagement and conversion
- Contributing to the development of marketing collateral, presentations and promotional materials
- Conducting market research and competitor analysis to identify trends and opportunities

Skills and experience
Essential
- Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, Media, or related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. Confidence to represent the university to a range of audiences.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Creative approach to problem-solving and content creation.
- Good analytical and numerical skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Enthusiastic, proactive, and willing to learn.
- Driving license
Desirable
- Experience of social media management, content creation, or digital marketing.
- Understanding of marketing principles and campaign planning.
- Experience using CRM, email marketing, or analytics platforms.
- Knowledge of the higher education or student recruitment sector.
- Experience of event planning or customer-facing roles.
