About York Steiner School

York Steiner School is an independent, non-selective school providing Steiner Waldorf education to children aged 3 to 16. Rooted in Steiner Waldorf philosophy, we offer a holistic and creative learning environment that nurtures the whole child — head, heart, and hands. We are part of a network of successful UK and Irish Waldorf schools and enjoy strong community ties in the city of York.

Are you a capable and creative storyteller, with multi-media marketing experience? We’re looking for an individual who is passionate about content creation and real life engagement to help deliver our school’s marketing strategy. As well as delivering a marketing plan to support pupil recruitment, this role will also help to support key events and help to build engagement with our school’s alumni and wider community.

Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to support the School Business Manager to deliver the school’s marketing strategy and raise the profile of York Steiner School with the ultimate aim of increasing pupil enrolment. The postholder will establish and deliver a multi media marketing plan, including creating beautiful and engaging content for social media, support key events and develop alumni relations through regular newsletters.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing & Communications

  • Work with the School Business Manager to produce and deliver a marketing plan in line with the school’s marketing strategy, with the aim of driving pupil recruitment and enhancing the school’s public profile.
  • Help to maintain and update the school’s website, social media accounts, newsletters and other communication channels.
  • Create compelling and informative written and visual content in line with the school’s ethos and values and communications guidelines.
  • Ensure consistent branding and tone of voice across all platforms.
  • Use the brand tools provided to design and produce digital and print assets such as social media adverts, flyers, banners, and prospectuses.
  • Track and report on engagement metrics to inform marketing activity.
  • Promote open days, seasonal festivals, and other key events.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
