Charles Thompson Ltd is a well-established, family-owned engineering and manufacturing company specialising in the design and manufacture of pressure vessels, heat exchangers, process pipework and bespoke fabricated equipment. We work with customers across highly regulated industries, including nuclear, renewable energy, defence, pharmaceutical, chemical and oil and gas.

Marketing Assistant

We are looking for an enthusiastic and creative Marketing Assistant to help develop our marketing presence during a period of growth and modernisation. This role would suit a recent graduate or someone at an early stage in their marketing career who wants practical experience, varied work and the opportunity to make a visible contribution.

The Role

Working closely with senior management and colleagues across the business, you will help showcase our projects, people, capabilities and facilities. You will support the launch and ongoing development of our new website, create content for LinkedIn and other digital channels, and develop marketing materials that explain what we do and the value we offer our customers.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About You

We are looking for someone who is creative, organised and proactive, with strong written English and the confidence to speak with colleagues across the business.

A qualification in marketing, digital marketing, business, communications or a related subject would be beneficial, but we also welcome applicants with relevant practical experience and examples of their work.

An interest in photography, video, social media or digital content would be particularly valuable. You should be comfortable managing several tasks, keen to bring forward ideas and willing to learn about our products and the industries we serve. Previous engineering experience is not required. Curiosity and the ability to turn technical information into content that people can understand are more important.
