We are looking to recruit a Marketing Assistant to support the delivery of marketing activities across the Group. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to develop their marketing career within a well-established and growing business.
Working as part of a friendly and supportive team, the successful candidate will gain exposure to a broad range of marketing activities, including digital marketing, social media, website management, events, internal communications, and content creation. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, this role offers the opportunity to develop valuable skills and experience in a fast-paced and diverse organisation.
Job Description
The main responsibilities of the Marketing Assistant role include the following, plus training and guidance will be provided where required:
Digital Marketing Support
- Collaborate with the marketing and wider team to plan, develop and deliver digital marketing campaigns across a range of platforms.
- Create engaging content for websites, social media channels, email newsletters and other digital marketing channels.
- Monitor and analyse digital marketing performance, providing insights and recommendations to optimise campaigns and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Coordinate photography and videography across all divisions, including scheduling, capturing content using the company camera, and managing digital assets.
Web Updates and Support
- Upload and update website content, including text, images and other digital assets.
- Support the ongoing maintenance of company websites, ensuring content remains accurate, up to date and aligned with brand guidelines.
- Apply SEO best practices, including optimising page titles, meta descriptions, image alt text and on-page content to improve search visibility.
- Identify opportunities to improve website content, user experience and performance.
Graphic Design
- Design and produce high-quality creative assets for both digital and print marketing, including social media graphics, website banners, brochures, advertisements, presentations and promotional materials.
- Develop creative concepts that support marketing campaigns and business objectives across all divisions.
- Ensure brand consistency across all design work and marketing collateral, maintaining company brand guidelines.
- Work collaboratively with the marketing team to deliver engaging visual content within agreed deadlines.
- Prepare artwork for a variety of digital and print applications, ensuring accuracy and quality throughout the production process.

Social Media Management
- Manage and maintain the company’s social media channels, including content creation, scheduling and publishing posts.
- Monitor social media performance and engagement, making recommendations to improve reach and audience interaction.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to identify opportunities for brand promotion and content development.
- Work with colleagues across the business to source engaging content that supports marketing campaigns and business objectives.
Event Coordination
- Support the planning, organisation and delivery of marketing events, including trade shows, conferences, exhibitions and product launches.
- Coordinate event logistics, including promotional materials, signage, stand preparation and supplier liaison.
- Provide on-site support to ensure the successful delivery of events and represent the company in a professional manner.
Administration
- Take ownership of the day-to-day administrative activities that support the marketing function, using initiative to ensure tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
- Maintain, update and cleanse contacts and marketing data across various digital platforms and marketing systems, ensuring records remain accurate and up to date.
- Prepare presentations, reports and meeting documentation, including taking notes and tracking agreed actions where required.
- Provide proactive administrative support across the marketing team and wider business, identifying opportunities to improve processes and ways of working.
What We’re Looking For
- Graduates with a degree in Marketing, Communications or a related discipline. Relevant work experience would be beneficial.
- Candidates with previous marketing experience who are looking to return to a marketing role.
The Successful Applicant Is Someone Who
- Has a keen interest in digital marketing and a good understanding of digital marketing channels and best practices.
- Has outstanding written communication and copywriting skills, with the ability to independently produce high-quality marketing content, adapt messaging for different audiences and channels, and ensure all communications reflect the company’s brand and objectives.
- Has a creative eye and experience producing high-quality marketing assets using graphic design software.
- Has experience managing social media platforms, including content creation, scheduling and monitoring performance.
- Has experience updating website content using CMS platforms such as WordPress, Webflow and/or Shopify (desirable).
- Has experience using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint (essential).
- Has experience using graphic design software such as Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator or Canva (desirable).
- Has experience using email marketing platforms (e.g. Dotdigital or similar) to create and distribute email campaigns (desirable).
- Has experience using CRM platforms such as HubSpot and Salesforce to manage contacts, maintain data quality and support marketing and sales activities (desirable).
- Is confident supporting the planning and delivery of marketing events.
- Has excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritise competing deadlines.
- Has strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret marketing data and use insights to improve future activity.
- Is proactive, takes ownership of tasks and uses initiative to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Has strong attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative approach to working with colleagues across the business.

Hours
Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch. We welcome flexible working applications and would be happy to consider a reduced-hours arrangement of 30 hours per week worked across four or five days for the right candidate.

Based across our Southampton offices.
