About CJ Association Management

CJ Association Management is a specialist association management company working with a diverse range of membership organisations, professional bodies and industry associations. We provide a broad range of services to our clients, including association management, membership support, marketing and communications, events, governance, administration and strategic support.

Working across a variety of clients and industries means that no two days are the same. Our marketing team supports organisations with different audiences, objectives and communications requirements, providing an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a broad range of marketing skills and experience.

The Role

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic Marketing Assistant to join our growing marketing team. This is an ideal opportunity for someone at the start of their marketing career who is keen to develop practical experience across the digital marketing mix. The role will provide exposure to social media, email marketing, content creation, graphic design, event promotion, reporting and wider marketing activity across a range of association and membership clients.

You will work closely with the Marketing Executive, Content Writer and Designer, with the Marketing Director providing overall line management and support.

Training will be provided on the specific platforms, systems and processes used by CJ Association Management. While previous experience is desirable, we are particularly interested in someone with enthusiasm, creativity, attention to detail and a willingness to learn.

There will be significant scope to grow within the role and develop your skills across different areas of marketing and communications.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media

  • Assist with the planning and scheduling of social media content across multiple client accounts.
  • Create and schedule posts for platforms including LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
  • Support the Marketing Executive and wider marketing team with social media campaigns and activity.
  • Adapt content for different platforms and audiences.
  • Monitor basic engagement and performance metrics.
  • Help maintain social media content calendars.
  • Identify opportunities for relevant and engaging content.
  • Support the development of social media campaigns around events, membership activity, industry news and campaigns.
  • Previous experience using Hootsuite or similar social media management platforms would be advantageous.

Email Marketing and Newsletters

  • Assist with the creation, formatting and distribution of client newsletters and email communications.
  • Build email campaigns using Dotdigital and other relevant platforms.
  • Format content, add images, links and calls to action, and ensure emails are visually consistent.
  • Maintain and update email templates.
  • Assist with testing emails before distribution.
  • Support the management of mailing lists and basic data administration.
  • Monitor basic email performance, including opens, clicks and engagement.
  • Work with the Content Writer and Marketing Executive to ensure content is accurate, engaging and delivered on time.
  • Previous experience with Dotdigital would be desirable, although full training will be provided.

Graphic Design

  • Create simple graphics and visual assets for social media, newsletters, websites and other marketing activity.
  • Adapt existing templates and brand assets for different campaigns and platforms.
  • Support the creation of event graphics, promotional materials and digital communications.
  • Ensure all materials are consistent with the relevant client brand guidelines.
  • Previous experience using Canva is desirable.
  • The role will not require advanced graphic design skills, with more complex design requirements supported by the wider design team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
