We’re looking for an enthusiastic and flexible individual to join our Marketing Team as a Marketing Assistant to help strengthen our brand, engage our customers, and support the delivery of innovative marketing campaigns.

You will support the team with the delivery of our projects and help keep customers and colleagues informed. You will be a key player in liaising with other businesses and organisations to promote bus travel to their employees and visitors.

If you have an interest in digital marketing, this role sees you create and distribute content across our social media channels, website, app and e-newsletters.

Principal Duties

  • Supporting the Marketing Team with administration and the delivery of marketing materials, activities, and projects
  • Creating and distributing content on NCT’s website, social media channels, and e-mail newsletters
  • Posting disruptions information to NCT’s Web, App, and social media (including some evenings and weekends)
  • Answering customer queries through social media (including some evenings and weekends)
  • Attending events to promote and encourage bus travel
  • Liaising with businesses, organisations, and attractions to build relationships to promote bus travel to their employees and visitors
  • Updating colleague communication channels
  • Proofreading of marketing materials

About You

You will have:

  • Knowledge of marketing and/or communications principals
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • A positive attitude, creativity, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Good customer service skills
  • Experience of using the Adobe Creative Suite
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of graphic design software would be an advantage
  • Good working knowledge of key social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and LinkedIn) for a business
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail

Hours of Work

  • Mondays to Fridays, 37 hours per week. Whilst this is primarily a Monday to Friday role, you will be required to work two evenings per week (17:00 - 22:00) responding to social media queries and posting disruptions information to customers. This will be done at home, on an ‘on call’ basis posting information when issues arise or responding to customers when they contact us. This is in addition to the 37 hours per week. Some weekend working is required for attendance at events.

Remuneration and Benefits

  • £30,500 per annum (which includes payment for the social media coverage in the evenings)
  • Permanent role, based on-site in Nottingham City Centre
