Marketing Assistant
Job Type: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract
Hours: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
Working Pattern: Hybrid, with a minimum of 3 days per week on site
Industry: Pharmaceuticals
Location: West London, England
Salary: £31,050 per annum plus holiday, sick pay and pension
Education Required
To be eligible for this placement, you must have graduated from a UK university within the last 2 years and be educated to degree level in Life Sciences, Business, Marketing or a related discipline.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Graduate Marketing Assistant to join a leading pharmaceutical organisation. This role offers the chance to gain valuable experience within a commercial healthcare environment, supporting innovative therapies and working alongside experienced industry professionals.
The placement will be within the SMA Gene Therapy team, providing an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a product launch environment and within the rare disease sector.
Key Responsibilities

- Development and delivery of projects aligned to brand objectives, including the organisation and management of congresses
- Supporting the development and management of marketing materials
- Providing analytical support for launch plans, KOL engagement plans, brand plans, sales planning and campaign tracking tools
- Budget management
- Vendor management
- Raising purchase orders and goods receipting
- Financial reconciliations and spend tracking
- Ensuring campaigns are executed in line with company compliance requirements
- Managing documents through approval processes and ensuring compliance with relevant SOPs while liaising with agencies
- Managing material withdrawals, re-certification and archiving activities as required
- Supporting the preparation of contracts and agreements
- Contract management support relating to healthcare professionals, agencies and third parties, including confidentiality agreements
- Managing disclosure processes relating to payments to healthcare professionals
- Co-ordinating team meetings
- Maintaining team records and documentation
- Organising itineraries and logistics for departmental activities
- Championing effective communication, ensuring structured communications and timely support for the field team

Essential Requirements
- Degree educated in Life Sciences, Business, Marketing or a related subject
- Clear motivation and ambition to gain experience in a commercial environment
- Full eligibility to work in the UK
Desirable
- Experience within a UK healthcare, pharmaceutical or marketing environment is advantageous
- Demonstrable transferable skills relevant to a business environment, such as time management
- Experience of working successfully within teams through employment, academic studies or extracurricular activities
