We’re hiring – Marketing & Business Development Assistant

ABV Solicitors is looking for an enthusiastic Marketing & Business Development Assistant to join our team.

Opportunity

An opportunity has arisen for a Marketing & Business Development Assistant to join ABV Solicitors. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or someone at the beginning of their career who is looking to develop practical experience across marketing, business development, communications and client engagement within a professional services environment.

Role Description

Working closely with the Partners and senior management team, the successful applicant will support the day-to-day delivery of the firm's marketing and business development activities. The role will help promote the ABV Solicitors brand, support new business opportunities, maintain our online presence and assist with building relationships with clients, referrers and other professional contacts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Generation: Researching target industries and organisations, identifying key decision-makers, sourcing appropriate contact details and helping to build prospect lists for business development activity.
  • CRM Management: Maintaining accurate client, prospect and referrer records, updating contact information, tracking pipeline stages and supporting regular data cleansing.
  • Content Creation: Drafting social media posts, newsletters, website copy, case studies, blogs and other marketing content.
  • Social Media: Supporting the management of the firm's LinkedIn, Instagram and other social media channels, including planning, drafting, scheduling and monitoring posts.
  • Proposal Support: Assisting with the preparation and formatting of pitch decks, proposals and presentations, proofreading documents and coordinating presentation schedules.
  • Business Development: Helping to identify networking and business development opportunities and supporting the development of relationships with clients, other law firms, professional contacts and referrers of work.
  • Digital Marketing: Liaising with external digital marketing providers and assisting with the monitoring of SEO, Google Ads and other digital campaigns.
  • Website & External Profiles: Updating the ABV Solicitors website and external profiles as required, ensuring information remains accurate and current.
  • Marketing Materials: Creating and updating marketing materials and basic artwork, ensuring that ABV Solicitors branding is used consistently.
  • Events & Networking: Assisting with the organisation and promotion of networking events, seminars, sponsorships and other firm activities.
  • Client Reviews: Supporting initiatives to encourage client feedback and promote the use of external review platforms across the firm.
  • Internal Content Gathering: Working with teams across the firm to gather news, case updates, successes and other content suitable for marketing purposes.
  • Legal Directories & Awards: Assisting Partners and lawyers with legal directory submissions, award entries and other profile-raising opportunities.
  • Market Research: Undertaking market and competitor research and helping to identify opportunities to promote the firm and its services.
  • Campaign Reporting: Tracking basic campaign and marketing metrics and assisting with reporting on performance and activity.
  • Administrative Support: Scheduling client and business development meetings, coordinating diaries, maintaining marketing records, handling inbound enquiries and providing general administrative support for marketing and business development projects.

  • A graduate or early-career candidate looking to develop a career in marketing and business development;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with excellent attention to detail;
  • Confident and professional when communicating with colleagues, clients, external suppliers and professional contacts;
  • Highly organised, proactive and able to manage several tasks and deadlines;
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office, Outlook and online platforms;
  • A good understanding of social media, particularly LinkedIn and Instagram, and an interest in using it professionally;
  • A genuine interest in marketing, content creation, relationship-building and business development.

Desirable Experience

Experience with CRM systems, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, email marketing platforms or website content management systems would be useful but is not essential. Previous experience within a law firm or professional services environment would also be advantageous but is not required.
