Marketing & Business Development Executive

If you’re a marketer who enjoys having the freedom to take an idea, improve it and actually run with it, this could be a really interesting next move. Added alongside this is exposure to supporting the Head of BD with various activities.

We’re recruiting on behalf of a rapidly growing boutique consultancy operating within the healthcare and life sciences space. It’s a highly respected, ambitious business with an exceptionally personable team and some exciting growth plans ahead.

They’re now looking for a Marketing & Business Development Executive to work closely with their Head of Business Development and take real ownership of the day-to-day marketing activity across the business.

There are already lots of great ideas and initiatives underway – from a newly launched website and content activity through to events and wider BD plans – and they want someone who can come in, bring their own marketing experience and help shape what happens next.

What will you be getting involved in?

You’ll have a varied remit, including:

  • Taking ownership of the content calendar and helping shape, draft and schedule engaging LinkedIn content
  • Managing and developing content across the company’s recently launched website
  • Bringing fresh ideas to the marketing programme and acting as a genuine sounding board to the Head of BD
  • Coordinating marketing activity across different teams and keeping plans moving
  • Tracking relevant industry conferences and identifying opportunities for the business
  • Supporting the planning and delivery of the company’s own events and roundtables
  • Developing marketing materials, case studies, presentations and other branded content
  • Tracking marketing performance and using the data to understand what is working
  • Supporting CRM activity, reporting and wider business development initiatives
  • Working closely with senior stakeholders across the business

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

There’s also plenty of opportunity for the role to develop further into business development over time if that’s an area you’d like to explore.

Who are we looking for?

Personality is a big part of this hire.

You’ll be joining a collaborative, down-to-earth team, so we’re looking for someone who is personable, confident, proactive and comfortable sharing their own ideas.

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • Around 2–3+ years’ marketing experience
  • Strong content and written communication skills
  • Experience managing social media/content calendars and ideally website content
  • The confidence to take something that has already been started, improve it and run with it
  • Strong organisation skills and the ability to juggle several different projects
  • An interest in the commercial/BD side of marketing
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders

Experience within consulting, professional services, healthcare or life sciences would be particularly useful, as you’ll already understand how to communicate with a professional audience and get the tone right.

Experience with events, CRM systems, LinkedIn analytics, Google Analytics, Canva or PowerPoint would also be useful – but you don’t need to tick every box.

Why consider it?

The biggest opportunity here is growth and ownership.

You’ll be joining a business that is expanding, working directly with its Head of Business Development and getting exposure to far more than one small area of marketing.

Rather than inheriting a rigid marketing machine, you’ll have the opportunity to help shape it.

There’s a new website to develop, content to build on, events to support, ideas to test and plenty of scope to make the role your own.

The team itself is another major selling point- friendly, supportive, highly personable and genuinely collaborative.

Working pattern: Hybrid, typically Tuesday–Thursday in the office

If you’re looking for a marketing role where you can have genuine input, work with a great team and see the impact of what you’re doing, I’d love to hear from you.
