We have a new opportunity for a Category Manager to join our Marketing team within Finsbury Food Group.

Finsbury Food Group is one of the UK’s leading speciality bakery manufacturers. We continually raise quality, innovation, and operational standards while building long-term, trusted relationships across retail, foodservice, and brand partnerships. Our portfolio spans a wide range of bakery categories—from market-leading retailer own-brand products to beloved licensed and branded ranges—produced across our nationwide network of bakeries.

This is an exciting time to join us. With an ambitious brand growth agenda and a packed pipeline of development activity across our key categories, you’ll play a vital role in elevating brand presence, strengthening customer engagement, and supporting the successful delivery of commercial targets.

To be successful in this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Translating shopper and market data into actionable insights that drive category growth for FFG and our retail partners.
  • Combining data analysis, category strategy, and customer-facing leadership to influence ranging, merchandising, pricing, and promotional decisions.

This is what you’ll actually do!

As a Category Manager, you will:

  • Lead the development, socialisation, and delivery of a dynamic, insight-driven Category Strategy, using analysis of shopper behaviour, market trends, and competitor activity to identify opportunities for growth.
  • Build and manage strong, influential relationships with key retail partners, while collaborating closely with the Brand Team to integrate category, market, and consumer insights that drive innovation.
  • Translate multiple data sources into clear, compelling, insight-led stories for both customers and internal stakeholders, and develop a deep understanding of shopper missions, behaviours, and drivers to ensure the voice of the shopper informs decision-making.
  • Lead shopper insight projects to deliver actionable commercial recommendations, while setting and maintaining high performance standards, taking ownership of objectives, and delivering quality outcomes.
  • Support the development of people and talent through coaching, feedback, and fostering an inclusive, engaging team environment.
  • Demonstrate strong business awareness through understanding the strategic plan, interpreting financial and market data, and recognising the importance of governance and partnerships.
  • Support and communicate change effectively, maintaining team focus and resilience, and collaborate across stakeholders by using data-driven insights to influence decisions and build positive, high-performing relationships.
  • Work closely with brand, sales, and development teams.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
