Marketing Cloud Operations Specialist
Our client is a well-established, mission-driven organization with a strong national presence that is undergoing an exciting period of digital transformation. They are investing heavily in their Salesforce ecosystem to enhance customer engagement and deliver more personalized, data-driven communications. You’ll be joining a collaborative Technology and Digital function, working closely with Marketing, Data, and Business stakeholders, as well as external Salesforce partners, to support and optimize a mature Salesforce Marketing Cloud environment.
Key responsibilities and focus areas:
- Act as the primary administrator for Salesforce Marketing Cloud, managing business units, user access, permissions, and platform security.
- Build, configure, and maintain automated customer journeys using Journey Builder and Automation Studio.
- Develop advanced audience segmentation using SQL and Data Extensions while maintaining communication preferences and suppression logic.
- Design and build responsive, personalized email templates using HTML, CSS, AMPscript, and SSJS.
- Monitor platform health, scheduled automations, imports, and SQL activities, proactively resolving issues.
- Ensure data integrity, compliance, and seamless integration between Salesforce Marketing Cloud and connected systems.
- Manage and prioritize marketing operations requests through Jira.
- Support, mentor, and provide governance for internal Salesforce Marketing Cloud users.
- Monitor platform licensing, usage, and overall operational performance.
- Collaborate with Marketing, Technology, Data teams, Salesforce Account Managers, and external implementation partners.

Requirements
- Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Specialist certification or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Strong experience administering Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
- Proven expertise with Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Contact Builder, Email Studio, CloudPages, and Data Extensions.
- Advanced SQL skills for segmentation and audience management.
- Experience with HTML, CSS, AMPscript, and Server-Side JavaScript (SSJS).
- Strong understanding of marketing automation, customer journeys, and campaign execution.
- Experience managing data quality, integrations, and marketing operations.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
- Experience supporting and training platform users.
Desired
- Previous experience as a Salesforce Marketing Cloud Developer or Data Engineer.
- Exposure to Salesforce Data Cloud (Data 360).
- Experience working within regulated or data-sensitive environments.
- Familiarity with GDPR and marketing compliance best practices.
- Experience working alongside Salesforce implementation partners.

Salary & Benefits
- Salary: £52,693.20 per annum
- Benefits:
- Permanent, full-time position (35 hours per week).
