Role Overview

Genus Company has an excited opportunity. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Marketing Communication Specialist (Hybrid) to join our marketing team.

The Marketing and Communications Specialist applies various communication strategies to create an impression, raise brand awareness, and generate customer and prospect interest. This individual is responsible for implementing global marketing campaigns; planning and executing marketing, communications, and sales team and customer engagement activities, including association relations, media planning and public relations; tradeshow management, campaign development, project planning, and customer experience visits.

The specialist must have experience with creating both online and offline assets including brochures, videos, articles, social media materials, events, websites, and email campaigns. They will ensure that all assets have high production values and meet brand and tone standards. They will also be a subject matter expert in the business’ products and services, and work across all regions to help deliver exceptional results.

The Marketing and Communications Specialist is highly self-motivated, skilled in interpersonal relations, works with the public, skilled in decision making, problem solving, proactive, and has a working knowledge of current marketing tools and strategies to execute successful marketing campaigns and industry events.

This is a hybrid position, requiring two days per week onsite at our Stapley office in London, U.K., with up to 20% of travel domestically and internationally.

You Will

Sales Tools, Directories, Marketing Materials:

  • Lead the development of integrated marketing tactics that drive brand awareness, including marketing and sales tools, print publications, brochures, advertisements, website, social media, email, and more.
  • Project manage design, printing, and distribution of marketing channels. Facilitate list acquisition and management.

Media Planning and Public Relations:

  • Establishes and maintains relationships with strategic media partners.
  • Leads the planning and execution of online and print advertising with appropriate industry publications.
  • Maintains paid search and display advertising campaign budgets and analyzes campaign performance.
  • Works with industry publications to identify editorial calendars and writes clear and interesting press releases and articles that cover those topics.
  • Works with the marketing team to develop appropriate messaging and artwork, tracks advertising campaign success, and manages related budget(s).
  • Maintains metrics across media planning and public relations platforms.
  • Develops and executes promotional strategies for program events and speakers through earned and paid media.

Public Relations:

  • Identifies key associations that align with the beef and dairy industries and ABS Global’s Go-To-Market Strategies.
  • Manages relationships with industry press and associations, including maintaining subscriptions, identifying appropriate events for our strategic initiatives, list acquisition, and advertising opportunities.
  • Writes clear and interesting articles for inclusion in association newsletters and publications.
  • Develops advertising plans with appropriate associations, works with the marketing team to develop appropriate messaging and artwork, tracks campaign success, and manages related budget(s).
  • Maintains metrics across all industry association outreach and partnership activities.

Trade Shows and Events Management:

  • Manages the trade show schedule for respective regions/countries and maintains calendar of shows our internal and external sales teams attend.
  • Oversees all details related to tradeshows, including strategy, staffing, booth equipment, materials, supplies, show documentation, contracts, deposits, correspondences with show organizers, and ensuring all necessary deadlines are met.
  • Works cross-functionally to ensure the right messaging and approach is showcased and that goals for lead generation are achieved.
  • Maintains trade show equipment storage space, budgets, processes payments, monitors expenses, and prepares reports related to tradeshows; evaluates ROI and recommends opportunities to enhance exhibit performance.
  • Fosters productive relationships with meeting organizations, vendors, and sales team to ensure the ABS Global brand is well represented.
  • Represents ABS Global at conferences and trade shows.

Marketing Support:

  • Assist with campaign strategy, development, and tracking.
  • Working with the marketing team and other stakeholders, maintain a project management system to ensure deadlines are met, projects are executed on successfully, and results are tracked.
  • Assist with internal and external sales team engagement and communications, such as webinar planning, monthly newsletters, regional marketing outreach, and more.
  • Assist with the development of annual calendars.

Requirements

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related discipline preferred.
  • Minimum five years of experience required.
  • Agriculture industry experience preferred.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% domestically and internationally.

Technical Marketing Expertise

  • Understanding and proven success in utilizing digital marketing and automation tools (e.g., HubSpot, Salesforce, WordPress, social media management platforms).
  • Demonstrated experience in marketing automation, campaign management, lead generation, direct marketing, database marketing, and/or Internet marketing.
  • Solid understanding of marketing concepts including lead management processes, customer lifecycle, lead nurturing, and marketing automation systems.
  • Experience executing audience and buyer persona research.
  • Ability to track trends to identify innovative ways to evolve strategy, grow audiences, and drive conversions.
  • Strategic mindset that considers both short-term and long-term ROI.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to test, measure, optimize, identify trends, and derive actionable insights.

Communication & Presentations Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Above-average interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information to management and/or customers.
