Purpose of the Role

You will support a broad range of marketing activities across Glasdon's channels, from advertising, direct mail and trade shows to social media, website content and other marketing materials. Combining strong communication skills with an analytical approach, you will help attract new customers, strengthen existing relationships, and use performance data to continually improve how we reach our audiences.

Key Tasks

  • Exhibitions & Events: Support the marketing and promotion of Glasdon’s attendance at trade shows and industry events.
  • Advertising: Coordinate print advertising and help manage the Company’s LinkedIn presence in line with the team’s content strategy.
  • Content & Copywriting: Write clear, engaging copy for a range of marketing materials, including newsletters, website content, case studies and brochures. Produce the Company’s regular newsletter, supporting internal as well as external communications.
  • Direct Mail: Coordinate direct mail campaigns to customers, prospects and event contacts. Work with external mailing houses to track print production and guarantee timely postage schedules.
  • Research: Research industry topics, competitors and market trends to inform marketing activities.
  • Reporting: Monitor and report on marketing and campaign performance. Test and optimise campaigns (e.g. A/B testing) and make use of AI-powered reporting tools to support insights and recommendations.

Key Objectives

  • Deliver agreed marketing campaigns and materials – across exhibitions, advertising, direct mail and content – on schedule and to brief.
  • Grow the Company’s LinkedIn presence and engagement against agreed quarterly targets.
  • Produce a range of content and marketing materials.
  • Support an increase in customer and prospect engagement generated through marketing activities.
  • Deliver regular performance reports with insights and recommendations within agreed deadlines.

Person Specification

Essential Skills & Attributes

  • Excellent written communication skills, with a strong eye for detail and accuracy.
  • A proactive, can-do approach and a genuine willingness to learn and develop.
  • Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage several projects and priorities to deadlines.
  • A good understanding of social media platforms and general IT.
  • The curiosity to research complex subjects and present them as clear, engaging content.

Desirable

  • Experience with SEO tools and web analytics platforms (e.g. Google Analytics, Search Console).
  • Experience of B2B marketing and content writing.
  • Familiarity with content management systems (CMS).
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g. Mailchimp).
  • Experience with marketing automation tools.
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted content drafting and other AI tools relevant to marketing.
  • Awareness of generative search tools and Generative Engine Optimisation (GEO), and how AI is changing how people search for information.
  • Awareness of GDPR and data protection requirements as they relate to marketing activity (e.g. email and direct mail).
  • Experience adapting content for different regions, markets or languages.

Qualifications

Ideally a 2:1 degree in Marketing or Business related degree, and/or strong A-Level results in English Language and/or Maths/Science.

Working Hours

Full-time, permanent position.

  • Monday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm. (Flextime available)
  • 30-minute lunch break.
  • Monthly pay in arrears (by the 28th of each month). Please note, this position does not offer visa sponsorship.
