Marketing, Communications, and Partnerships Director

We are looking for a Marketing, Communications, and Partnerships Director to join Mercury13. You will own our brand, our marketing and our communications, and you will own everything that happens after a commercial deal is signed. Two things are yours: growing the audience for the Group and our three clubs, and making sure every partner gets what it paid for and wants to stay. You will set the bar for brand and marketing across the portfolio, and hold each club to it. Today the team is one social media manager, so you will also decide what we build in house and what we buy in.

We'd love to hear from you if:

  • You have built a marketing and communications strategy from close to nothing, and delivered it yourself
  • You have grown an audience from a low base, and you can show the numbers
  • You have taken signed sponsorship rights and turned them into activity that partners were happy with
  • You have appointed agencies and held them to targets, rather than letting them run you
  • You know your way around the press, including on a bad day

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

It also helps if you have worked in sport, entertainment or another fandom-driven category, if you speak Spanish, Italian, French or German, or if you have set standards across a group of separate businesses.

What you can expect to be involved in

  • Building Mercury13's first proper marketing and communications strategy
  • Growing the audience for the Group and our three clubs, and running the fan activation plan
  • Setting the brand and marketing bar for the portfolio, and holding the clubs to it
  • Getting our activation and servicing model ready before the first Group partner signs, then delivering it
  • Running Group content across our channels, our corporate communications and our press relationships
  • Choosing and managing the agencies we need, and deciding what we hire instead
  • Working shoulder to shoulder with our Director of Commercial Sales, feeding pitches with activation ideas and taking partners over at signature
