Social Media & Communications Executive – Temp to Perm
📍 Birmingham City Centre
💷 Up to £30,000
🏢 Hybrid – 3 days in the office / 2 days WFH
⏱ 3-month temporary contract with the opportunity to move permanent

We're working with an established Birmingham-based organisation looking for a Social Media & Communications Officer to join its team on an initial 3-month temp-to-perm basis.
This is a hands-on role for someone who can create engaging content, manage social channels, support campaigns and events, and use performance data to continually improve communications.
The Role
You'll be responsible for delivering targeted and measurable communications across a range of social, email and digital channels, helping to raise awareness of the organisation's news, campaigns, events, education and wider activity.
You'll be involved in:
- Planning, creating, scheduling and publishing content across LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Bluesky, YouTube and Threads
- Creating engaging organic and paid social content, including graphics, short-form video, animations and Reels
- Supporting recruitment and marketing campaigns, including audience targeting and optimisation
- Promoting news, campaigns, events, education and approved third-party activity across social channels
- Monitoring social channels and escalating queries or reputational issues where appropriate
- Managing direct member communications through Mailchimp, including segmentation, testing and reporting
- Maintaining and updating website content through a CMS, including formatting, links and basic SEO
- Monitoring social and email performance and producing regular reports covering reach, engagement, conversions, ROI and recommendations
- Maintaining the communications calendar and coordinating deadlines, approvals and campaign activity across internal teams and external partners
- Supporting wider communications activity and occasional UK events

About You
We're looking for someone with solid experience across social media, digital content and communications, ideally within a membership, professional services, charity, education or similar organisation.

You'll need:
- Strong hands-on social media experience across multiple platforms
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience creating content for social, email and digital channels
- Confidence using Mailchimp and website CMS platforms
- Experience creating simple graphics and short-form video content
- An understanding of social and email analytics and performance reporting
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- A proactive, collaborative approach and strong attention to detail
The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity to join an established organisation in a varied communications role with genuine scope to make an impact.
The position is offered initially on a 3-month temporary basis, with the intention of becoming permanent for the right person.
- Salary: Up to £30,000
- Location: Birmingham City Centre
- Working pattern: 3 days office / 2 days WFH
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm
- Start: Immediate
