The role
Having recently launched our new brand identity, Group purpose and shared core values, this is an exciting time to be a part of British Engines, where communications will play a key role in shaping how we connect with our people, how we share our story externally, and how we support business success across the Group.
As Marketing & Communications Lead you will drive and support the delivery of engaging, high-quality communications across British Engines, positioning the Group as a leading provider of complex engineering solutions while reinforcing our critical role in global industries. In addition, this pivotal role will provide marketing support to British Engines businesses where required, helping to develop and strengthen their customer value propositions to enable business growth.
What you'll be doing
External Comms
- Manage and grow social media presence (particularly LinkedIn) to increase engagement and visibility.
- Support the relaunch and ongoing development of the British Engines website, including case study creation and content management.
- Support communications activity for the Group Apprentice Programme to attract high-quality candidates and showcase our investment in future skills.
- Coordinate company-wide charitable initiatives, including flagship events and Community Fund activity.
- Work with external agency to deliver external communications and PR activity.
- Monitor and evaluate communications performance, using insights to improve reach, engagement and lead generation.

Marketing
- Provide marketing support to British Engines businesses where required, including website and social content.
- Develop high-quality marketing collateral (presentations, brochures, bid materials) to support sales and business development.
- Execute targeted marketing campaigns to raise brand profile in key markets.
- Plan and support events, exhibitions and customer engagement activity to drive brand presence and leads.
- Support SEO and paid activity to increase visibility in priority sectors.
Internal Comms
- Own and manage the Group internal communications plan, reviewing weekly to align activity to business priorities.
- Lead internal campaigns that support the employee value proposition and embed British Engines values e.g. wellbeing.
- Organise and deliver key Group events and initiatives, including the Beyond Awards, Leadership Events, Health Challenge and Community Fund.
- Support the delivery of the annual Employee Survey, analysing insights to identify trends and opportunities.
- Support change communications, including digital transformation programmes and line manager briefings.
- Manage and maintain internal and external distribution lists.
ESG
- Support development of a Group ESG narrative across all businesses.
- Capture ESG activity, milestones and successes in a compelling way.
- Coordinate and promote STEM activity aligned to our future talent ambitions.

Who we're looking for
We’re looking for a creative and proactive communications and marketing professional who can develop engaging content, manage multiple priorities and build strong relationships across British Engines.
You’ll bring experience in communications, marketing or a related role, alongside strong written and verbal communication skills and excellent attention to detail. You’ll be confident managing digital channels, including intranets and social media, and supporting a range of campaigns, events and activities.
Strong organisational skills will be essential, as you’ll be responsible for planning and delivering high-quality communications and marketing activity in a structured and timely way. You’ll be comfortable working independently, taking ownership and managing competing priorities.
With a collaborative and audience-focused approach, you’ll be able to create engaging content that brings our brand, purpose and values to life. You’ll also be confident building effective relationships and working with colleagues across teams and at all levels of the organisation.
This is a fantastic opportunity to influence how we bring the British Engines brand to life, both internally and externally, at a pivotal moment in our journey. We’re looking for a self-starter who is keen to develop their experience across communications and marketing.
