Marketing & Communications Lead

We are working with a highly regarded and growing European private markets investment firm to appoint a Marketing & Communications Lead.

This is a senior, highly visible role with responsibility for shaping and delivering the firm's marketing strategy as it enters its next phase of growth. Working closely with the senior leadership and investment teams, the successful candidate will take ownership of how the business, its investment capabilities and future strategies are positioned to institutional investors and the wider market.

This is not a role for someone who wants to manage a large internal marketing team. It requires an experienced, hands-on marketer who is equally comfortable setting the strategy, writing and developing content, managing senior stakeholders and ensuring projects are delivered.

The Role

You will have broad responsibility across the firm's marketing activities, including:

  • Owning and delivering the overall marketing and communications strategy.
  • Developing the firm's positioning and messaging to support institutional fundraising and continued business growth.
  • Leading the marketing workstream around future fundraises and ensuring investor-facing materials are compelling, consistent and delivered to schedule.
  • Supporting the launch of new investment strategies, including proposition development, messaging, brand architecture and go-to-market planning.
  • Working closely with investment professionals to translate complex investment concepts into clear and credible external communications.
  • Developing and managing the firm's content and thought-leadership programme across articles, market commentary, case studies, newsletters, social media and other channels.
  • Taking ownership of the firm's brand and ensuring consistency across investor communications and external channels.
  • Managing the firm's digital presence, including its website, email marketing, social media and associated analytics.
  • Overseeing PR, media engagement and external communications.
  • Taking responsibility for the marketing of investor events, conferences and other external initiatives.
  • Managing a network of specialist external agencies and suppliers across areas such as PR, design, digital, content and events.
  • Owning the marketing budget and measuring the effectiveness of marketing activity.
  • Ensuring marketing activity operates appropriately within a regulated investment management environment.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
