Marketing and Communications Officer

Salary: £28,000 - £32,000 (dependent on experience)

At STEM Learning, we're passionate about connecting educators, employers and young people with opportunities that transform lives through STEM. We're looking for a creative, proactive and audience-focused Marketing and Communications Officer to join our team and help amplify the reach and impact of our programmes, products and services.

This is an exciting opportunity for a marketing professional who thrives on creating engaging content, delivering integrated campaigns and using insight to drive continuous improvement. Working across a diverse portfolio of projects, you'll play a key role in raising awareness of STEM Learning's work through compelling communications across digital and offline channels.

The Role

As a Marketing and Communications Officer, you'll deliver a broad range of marketing, communications and PR activities that engage our audiences and strengthen our brand. From managing website content and social media campaigns to creating impactful email communications and supporting PR activity, you'll ensure our messages reach the right people through the most effective channels.

Working closely with colleagues and external partners, you'll help plan and deliver integrated campaigns that promote STEM Learning's programmes, products and services. Using audience insight, analytics and market trends, you'll continuously optimise activity to enhance engagement, improve performance and maximise impact.

Other Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Creating, maintaining and optimising digital content across websites, social media and email platforms to improve user experience, accessibility and search engine visibility.
  • Using insights from a range of sources, including website analytics and social media performance, to identify opportunities to enhance marketing and communications activity.
  • Monitoring industry trends, competitor activity and emerging digital marketing developments to inform innovation and best practice.
  • Providing marketing and communications guidance, advice and support, helping to build confidence and capability across the organisation.
  • Sharing best practices and contributing to the continuous improvement of marketing and communications activity and support.
  • Leveraging content, research, case studies and events to maximise audience reach and engagement.
  • Representing Marketing and Communications at relevant events, meetings and committees.

You'll bring experience in marketing, communications or a related field, combined with a passion for creating compelling content, engaging audiences and delivering campaigns that achieve meaningful results. We're looking for someone who combines creativity with analytical thinking, has experience working across digital channels including websites, email and social media, and is confident using insight and performance data to improve results.

You'll be an excellent communicator with strong organisational skills, able to manage competing priorities, build effective relationships and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment. Most importantly, you'll be proactive and adaptable, with a genuine desire to make an impact and continuously improve the way we communicate with our audiences.

To note: The role is York-based with occasional UK travel. During the probation period (4 months), there is a requirement to attend the office five days per week. Upon passing probation, minimum three days in the office.
