Marketing and Communications Officer, The Churn Community Hub

Hours of work: 24 hours per week (Mon-Fri flexible)
Salary: £28,424 (FTE) £18,433 actual
Place of work: Cirencester
Reporting to: Marketing, Communications and Volunteer Manager

We are seeking a creative, dynamic and organised Marketing and Communications Officer to support marketing and communications across The Churn Community Hub. This is a varied and practical role for someone who enjoys creating engaging content, communicating with different audiences and finding effective ways to promote and share the work, activities and impact of our organisation.

The role will suit someone with good written and verbal communication skills who is confident using social media and digital platforms and can create engaging, authentic content. You will be organised and efficient, able to work at pace and manage a varied workload, with the creativity and initiative to spot opportunities for content and bring ideas to life. Working closely with colleagues across The Churn, you will help gather and share stories, information and content that demonstrate the breadth and impact of our work.

You do not need to come from a traditional communications background; we are interested in someone with the right skills, ability and enthusiasm to learn and develop. Experience of using tools such as Canva, Mailchimp, updating websites, photography or creating video content would be an advantage.

The Churn Community Hub is an independent charity working in Cirencester and the surrounding villages for over 25 years. In 2024/25, we supported over 1,700 people to reduce isolation and loneliness, improve wellbeing, learn new skills and feel part of their community. Our vision is that all people should be included, involved and invested in their community, feel supported and valued and given the opportunity to achieve their potential.

As Marketing and Communications Officer, you will support the day-to-day delivery of marketing and communications across The Churn, working closely with the Marketing, Communications and Volunteer Manager and colleagues across the organisation. You will help ensure our communications are current, engaging and consistent and that our services, activities, events and impact are promoted effectively.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
