Marketing & Communications Specialist

We are looking for a proactive, hands-on Marketing & Communications Specialist to join our Home Entertainment Brand & Product Communications team. Unlike some of our competitors, you will have creative freedoms at Sony. In this high-visibility role, you will work directly with Sony’s flagship product portfolio, driving multi-channel campaign execution, media agency coordination, and website optimization across Europe. You will be positioned at the intersection of campaign delivery, web performance, and media strategy, this role offers an exceptional platform to build expertise.

About You

You should come from a consumer product marketing background. Your ambition and organisation skills will be assets here, and we have the benefit of a huge range of projects we can select from, and we will always aim to provide you with the most exciting and interesting projects to work on.

What You Will Do

Media Strategy, Planning & Agency Management

  • Agency & Timeline Oversight: Partner with external media agencies to manage end-to-end campaign timelines, media buys, and delivery tracking across European markets.
  • Full-Funnel Campaign Strategy: Assist in shaping and executing ATL and digital media campaigns, ensuring alignment with regional business objectives.
  • Creative Adaptation & Briefing: Write sharp creative briefs for agency partners and designers oversee asset adaptation to ensure media assets are optimised for target channels and delivered on schedule.
  • Campaign Performance & Analytics: Co-lead campaign post-mortems with media agencies, analysing performance metrics to extract actionable insights for future media allocations.

Brand & Product Communications

  • GTM Planning: Support the organisation and coordination of owned channel launch plans, whilst supporting the wider European GTM strategy.
  • Strategic Initiative & Creativity: Actively review campaign performance and market trends to pitch creative ideas, proposing strategic adjustments directly to brand teams.
  • Project Tracking & Risk Mitigation: Monitor deadlines, identify bottlenecks, and proactively solve issues to keep launches on schedule alongside the Product Marketing Planner.
  • Global Collaboration & Presentation: Facilitate smooth communication between Tokyo HQ, Sony Europe and European markets; prepare and deliver clear presentations to align international teams on brand strategy.

Product Toolkit, Content creation

  • Toolkit & Creative Content Creation: Partner with the Product Marketing Planner to lead content creation and asset briefings for new model launches, bringing fresh, creative ideas to key product toolkit modules.
  • Own Channel Content: Lead creative briefs for owned channel teams, ensuring creative meets brand and product communication objectives in these channels - (web, eCRM & Social content).
  • Workflow Optimisation: Own and optimise the translation workflow for European markets to ensure local relevance and best-in-class execution.
  • Central Asset Management: Own the process of retrieving and organising central assets from Tokyo HQ, keeping the EU Brand & Product Communications team updated.
  • Platform Ownership: Maintain and optimise our asset-sharing platform (Aprimo) to improve how regional markets access and download assets.
  • Ad-Hoc Projects: Champion ad-hoc projects, taking ownership of the creative briefing and execution process whilst ensuring project deliverables meet brand objectives.

Website Optimisation

  • Website Project Management: Lead end-to-end website update projects for product launches; drive layout and content decisions to deliver first-class webpage execution, ensuring cross-functional teams deliver on time.
  • Data-Driven Optimisation: Utilise Adobe dashboards and collaborate with internal teams to optimise web content and drive traffic for the Home Entertainment portfolio.
  • Platform & Syndication Management: Oversee and update content across key digital touchpoints—Sony Europe owned pages, Flixmedia (retail syndication), and Amazon A+ content—ensuring alignment with owned-channel plans.
  • Asset Collaboration: Partner with the Product Marketing Planner to secure and optimise high-quality assets that boost website traffic and conversion.
  • Homepage & Channel Alignment: Coordinate with Web and Direct to consumer teams to secure homepage space for Home Entertainment products, aligning activations with wider campaigns.

What You Will Bring

  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous eye for quality, ensuring flawless execution across all web pages, translated assets, and brand toolkits.
  • Paid media channels: Experience and knowledge of Paid Social, Programmatic, Search/SEM, Digital Video ads and campaign execution across full-funnel media channels.
  • Media & Agency Management: Experience (or strong foundational knowledge) in coordinating external media agencies, managing media timelines, and evaluating campaign ROI.
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret web performance data and campaign analysis to make informed, data-driven decisions for future activations.
  • Creativity & Content Briefing: Ability to bring fresh, creative ideas to campaigns and write clear, high-quality briefs for design and translation agencies.
  • Project & Timeline Management: Proven ability to manage complex, end-to-end launch timelines, coordinate cross-functional teams, and keep projects on schedule.
  • Proactive Problem Solving: A self-starter mindset with the ability to independently identify project bottlenecks, propose solutions, and pivot strategies when required.
  • Stakeholder & Agency Management: Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience managing day-to-day relationships with external media agencies and global internal teams.
