Salary: £32,000

Location: London - mainly onsite with some WFH

Our charity provides outstanding care and experiences for residents in our care homes. After 185 years, we’re evolving. We’re building a new marketing function to engage communities and drive acquisition so we can help people for the next 100+ years. Our care homes serve the UK Jewish community and the marketing function needs to find creative ways to reach, engage and influence this niche market.

Role purpose

This role is key to building community relationships, and delivering a range of channels to engage our communities and deliver results, from digital to in-person experiences. Help shape and deliver Nightingale Hammerson's brand, marketing and communications strategy and marketing objectives that support organisational goals including increasing sales and fundraising. This will involve engaging our communities to deliver key messages and promote the brand and our propositions.

Responsibilities

Community Engagement

  • Help create community engagement plans, implement and deliver the plans, and contribute to the wider marketing strategy
  • Deliver engagement and marketing communications to our communities which include:
    • The Jewish community
    • Our local communities
    • The care industry
  • Build & grow relationships with organisations such as synagogues and local community groups through communications, phone, email, meeting in person and using events
  • Help grow brand awareness and demand of propositions to generate leads from the community either directly or by referral
  • Deliver regular comms such as email newsletters and ad hoc communications
  • Deliver strategic messages to our community to promote our brand, propositions and events
  • Identify new opportunities to engage our communities
  • Report on community engagement outcomes and other reporting such as newsletter performance, or competitor insights
  • Manage enquiries effectively from our community and partners

General marketing and communications

  • Support line manager and the wider Marketing department to deliver the strategy to meet marketing and organisational goals and objectives
  • Support development and delivery of marketing and comms campaigns
  • Deliver advertising, PR, events, and comms across our owned channels including CRM & email, socials and web
  • Work effectively with suppliers including creative, marketing & media agencies, freelancers, printers, photographers and production companies
  • Copywriting, creative development and creation of brand images and other assets
  • Collaborate on optimising our brand channels including website, social media, and managing CRM contact data
  • Contribute to marketing and communications plans and projects
  • Collaborate with, and provide marketing support to, other departments such as Resident Services, Fundraising, Care, creating marketing collateral, providing event support and answering queries
  • Collaborate with 3rd party partners
  • Support the department by delivering occasional internal communications, contributing to meetings and taking on ad hoc projects
  • Ensure brand standards are met across all marketing deliverables and other activities including visual identity and tone of voice
  • Ensure correct sign off and consent procedures are followed as well as GDPR and advertising standards compliance
  • Ensure all activity is cost-efficient working to agreed budgets and following finance processes such as raising purchase orders and setting up new suppliers

Requirements

Must haves

  • A “people person” who loves building new and varied relationships, meeting people face-to-face and is happy to pick up the phone
  • Experience delivering effective B2C digital communications and campaigns via email, social media and web
  • Experience delivering successful email communications with CRMs such as MailChimp or Microsoft Dynamics
  • Copywriting skills and proven ability to engage audiences in order to deliver planned outcomes
  • Experience producing marketing collateral
  • Experience of briefing and managing marketing suppliers such as creative agencies, print production companies, and buying advertising media
  • Experience of contributing to, and working from, marketing and communications plans
  • Experience of collaborating on marketing and communications with external partners
  • A great creative eye to ensure visually impactful comms and collateral
  • Experienced at reporting on data from marketing comms and channels
  • Ability to manage a varied workload and adapt to changing priorities to meet organisational needs
  • Ability to work from one of our offices (Clapham or Hampstead) typically four days a week, and attend either office when required.
  • Ability to travel occasionally for offsite meetings and events
  • Flexibility to occasionally work an evening or weekend to support events and other activities

Highly desirable

  • Experience of marketing to and engaging a community, and experience of the Jewish community, or the healthcare community would be very useful
  • CRM data management experience including segmentation & data tagging, and personalised comms
  • Marketing, communications or business qualifications
  • Media buying experience for advertising
  • Experience and skills in Adobe Creative Cloud apps such as Photoshop, Indesign, Illustrator or Premiere or similar
  • Experience managing of video production and photoshoots
  • Experience of brand management
  • Good photography and videography skills

You’ll work across our two homes which have offices – one in South Clapham, one in Hampstead. There is some flex for homeworking however, you’ll work most days at one of our two locations. This role is only available to UK residents or those with no need for visa sponsorship
