Marketing & Community Lead

London / Surrey Hybrid

Mixtons is a Ready-to-Drink cocktail brand shaking up an industry stuck in the past. We grew through festivals and events long before we hit a shelf, and in July 2026 we launched nationally in Sainsbury's.

We're looking for someone to take marketing and run it. Not inherit a plan — there isn't one. There's a format that works, a brand with a clear point of view and a large opportunity between where we are and where we're going.

Two halves to the job, and you need both. Build the community. Make it sell.

Long Tables in Unexpected Places

One long table. Somewhere you wouldn't expect. Location released on the day. Strangers sat next to strangers. Cocktails worth talking about, no script, phones down.

Our first one sold out in 90 minutes. Our last in 40 seconds. By the end of the night people were swapping numbers in a park.

People are lonelier and more online than they have ever been, and the drinks industry keeps answering with another 30-second ad. We think the answer is a table. It's our content engine, our press hook and the reason someone picks us off a shelf they've walked past a hundred times.

It currently exists at a scale of a handful. It needs to work across cities, then across borders. That's the job.

What You Own

Everything except paid: community, content strategy, CRM, creators, PR, partnerships, shopper and retail marketing, and the plan connecting all of it to units sold.

Channel strategy is genuinely yours. The founders own brand vision and DNA, settled, and what you're here to amplify. How that vision reaches people, through which channels, in what order, at what cost, is your call.

Paid isn't in scope yet because organic and IRL are where our edge is. When that changes, it's yours, and we'd expect you to be the one telling us.

Scale Long Tables

  • Design the model that grows beyond what you can personally attend — flagship, partner and community-hosted tables, with systems that hold quality across all of them
  • Recruit and run an ambassador network so cadence grows faster than headcount
  • Decide which cities, in what order, and why
  • Own budgets, suppliers, logistics and the unglamorous detail that makes the magic possible
  • Run the community infrastructure underneath it: WhatsApp groups, the ballot, applications, guest lists

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Then the harder half. A table that becomes predictable stops working. Locations nobody sees coming, moments that belong to that place rather than a template rolled out again, and a format that never quietly turns into a brand activation with a long table in it.

Drive Rate of Sale

The half that gets underestimated, and the half we'll judge you on.

Getting listed was the easy bit. Staying listed, and earning the next four retailers, comes down to one number: how many units leave each store each week.

  • Manage rate of sale actively. Know your units per store per week, which stores work, which don't, and why
  • Fix the path to purchase. Fixture, shelf stand-out, on-pack cut-through, the two seconds someone spends deciding
  • Own online grocery visibility — search, product pages, imagery, reviews. A listing nobody can find isn't a listing
  • Plan promotions with Sales and understand their economics, including what happens to baseline volume after a deep cut
  • Run retail media, shopper marketing and sampling, and know whether any of it paid for itself
  • Prove the link between local community activity and store performance. If a table lifts rate of sale in the shops around it, that's the most valuable thing you can demonstrate this year

Build the Selling Story

Sales owns the commercial relationships and does the selling. You build the ammunition, and you're in the room.

  • Understand each retailer's category performance and priorities, and pitch to those rather than to ours
  • Turn our data into an argument: which shopper we recruit, and why we're incremental rather than cannibalising
  • Build presentations that get remembered. Every buyer sees the same deck fifty times a year
  • Support ranging reviews and JBPs with marketing plans that give buyers confidence in volume, not just listings

Direct Content and Own CRM

We have a content creator who shoots, edits and publishes, and a designer who builds. You set direction and hold the bar.

  • Own the content strategy and calendar, and write the briefs
  • Build the UGC machine; prompts, sourcing, rights, library

CRM is the exception: yours end to end, hands on. Strategy, segmentation, flows, the writing, the sending and the reporting. Every table and launch puts people into our world and too many fall straight back out. Fix that.

Team, Budget & Equity

  • A content creator and designer from day one, and direct access to the three founders.
  • A marketing budget you control and are accountable for.
  • Your first hires within the year, and you pick them.
  • Meaningful equity. We'll talk numbers early rather than dangling the word.

Who We're Looking For

6-8 years in, someone who has already done the hard version of this once and wants to do it again with more rope, and at an earlier stage.

You've built something real; a community, a format, a brand people felt something about. You've been holistic, not managed just a single channel. You know the difference and so do we.

You can hold two things at once: the instinct for what makes a table unforgettable, and the discipline to trace it through to units per store per week. Commercial marketers find the community stuff fluffy; creative ones find the retail stuff boring. At Mixtons they're the same job.

You're not precious about seniority. In year one you'll be writing emails, chasing venues and standing in a field at 9pm working out where the ice is going.

You likely have:

  • Worked an FMCG brand through grocery and understood the numbers — rate of sale, distribution versus velocity, promo mechanics, category data. You've read an EPOS report and known what to do about it
  • Built a selling story a buyer actually bought
  • Scaled something community-led, IRL or online
  • Run real-world activations at pace
  • Owned a CRM properly, including the writing
  • Managed people, budgets and partners

This isn't: a brand owner role, the vision is founder-led and settled. A content creator role, you direct rather than shoot. A social media role; this is far more advanced in breadth. A strategy-only role, you'll write the plan and then go and do most of it yourself.
