Marketing Manager & Community Manager

London / Surrey Hybrid

Mixtons is a fast-growing Ready-to-Drink cocktail brand shaking up an industry stuck in the past. We're now in Sainsbury's nationally, with more grocery to come. As we push on with our mission to become the most loved RTD brand on the planet, we're looking for a Marketing Manager to turn our community concept into a machine.

The brand vision and DNA are founder-led. This role exists to turn that vision into a high-output marketing engine, where real-world community and digital channels feed each other.

We're looking for someone who instinctively understands how communities form, but who can also run the operational detail behind them. Both, not either.

To be clear on where this role sits: you are the strategist, planner, and organiser. We already have a content creator producing and publishing, and the founders own the brand vision. You are the layer in between that makes it all actually happen, on time and to a standard.

The Role

At the centre of this job sits one thing: Long Tables in Unexpected Places.

  • One long table. Somewhere you wouldn't expect. Location released on the day. Strangers sat next to strangers. Cocktails worth talking about, no script, phones down. Our first one sold out in 15 minutes. By the end of the night people were swapping numbers in a park.

Long Tables is not a side project or an events calendar. It is how Mixtons builds culture, generates content, earns press and drives rate of sale. Everything else you own feeds off it.

Your job is to make Mixtons:

  • Consistently visible
  • Culturally familiar
  • Commercially effective

You own that loop.

What You'll Own

Long Tables: Creative, Scale, and Delivery

You own the growth of Long Tables from a handful of tables into a network. Multi-event, multi-city, and in time, multi-country.

You'll:

  • Find locations nobody expects. Rooftops, tunnels, warehouses, fields, car parks, lidos, wherever
  • Make every table feel like it belongs to that place, not a template rolled out again
  • Run the calendar across every track, from flagship tables to partner tables to community and follower-led tables
  • Build the systems that let other people host without us losing control of the format: the Twist Kit, the host guide, the content brief
  • Recruit, brief, and manage the ambassador network so cadence grows faster than our headcount does
  • Own locations, suppliers, budgets, logistics, and the unglamorous detail that makes the magic possible
  • Keep the promise of a table near every community roughly every one to two weeks

This is the part most people underestimate. It is a serious operational job.

Optimising Content Strategy

Be part of the thinking behind the content, not the making of it.

We already have a content creator who shoots, edits, and posts. Your job is to make sure they always know exactly what they're making, why, and how it will help us grow. You'll work with them to set the direction and hand them a clear brief.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

You'll:

  • Own the content strategy sitting underneath the calendar.
  • Work together to plan the calendar.
  • Help write the briefs: the concept, the hook, the narrative, the reference, the outcome
  • Plan coverage around every table, launch, and retail moment well in advance
  • Make sure the right person, kit, and permissions are in place before the day, not on it
  • Review output against the brief and give clear, direct feedback
  • Test formats, spot what's working, and feed that back into the next brief

You are responsible for the plan and the quality bar. Someone else holds the camera and hits publish.

CRM & Email

Own the database and the relationship with everyone in it. This one is yours end to end.

Every table, every launch, every store visit puts more people into our world. Right now too many of them fall straight back out of it. Your job is to make sure they don't.

You'll:

  • Own the CRM platform, the data, the hygiene, and the GDPR side of it
  • Set the CRM strategy: what we send, to whom, how often, and what it's for
  • Segment the list properly. Table attendees, applicants who didn't get a seat, ambassadors, hosts, retail customers, trade contacts. They are not the same people and shouldn't get the same email
  • Write the copy. You are the voice in the inbox, so you need to be able to write, and write well
  • Work with our designer to build the emails, briefing them properly and holding the standard
  • Build, test, schedule, and send. You press the button
  • Report on it. Not a wall of open rates, but a clear read on what's working, what isn't, and what you're changing next

Owned Channels & Community Infrastructure

Manage the channels where our community actually lives.

You'll:

  • Run the WhatsApp community, the announcement channel, the local sub-groups, and the seat allocation mechanic
  • Plan and execute email campaigns and flows
  • Use owned channels to reinforce belonging, not just to sell
  • Coordinate launches, events, and retail moments
  • Track performance and keep improving it

This is where community deepens between tables.

Influencer & Creator Management

Activate and manage creators who already have engaged audiences.

You'll:

  • Identify and build relationships with aligned creators
  • Get the right people around the right tables
  • Manage briefs, timelines, contracts, and budgets
  • Keep output feeling authentic rather than transactional
  • Track what actually converts

Creators are community leaders. Treat them that way.

Insight, Performance & Optimisation

Track performance and use insight to improve execution.

You'll:

  • Monitor tables run, attendees, repeat attendance, content reach, email, and social performance
  • Watch rate of sale in stores near sustained local activity
  • Spot patterns in what resonates and converts
  • Share learnings clearly with the founders
  • Refine the playbooks over time

Progress beats perfection.

Commercial & Retail Impact

Your work should support:

  • Pre-store demand ahead of grocery launches
  • Familiarity and recognition at shelf
  • Improved rate of sale driven by prior connection
  • Retail partners who get invited to a table, not sent another deck

Community makes conversion easier.

Who We're Looking For

You're socially confident and comfortable in the room, but thoughtful in how you operate. You listen more than you talk, spot patterns quickly, and articulate ideas with clarity.

You can hold two things at once: the spreadsheet that keeps twenty tables on track, and the instinct for what makes the twenty-first one unforgettable. Most people are good at one. We need both.

You know how to switch your energy on when it matters. You're hungry, curious, and ambitious, with a real desire to get stuck into every part of marketing. You're fascinated by what makes people tick, resilient when things go wrong on the day, and happy to learn by doing.

You Likely Are

  • Three to five years into your marketing career
  • Equally comfortable planning and doing
  • Experienced in running real-world moments, not just posting about them
  • Curious about culture, behaviour, and psychology
  • Energised by pace and responsibility

What This Role Is Not

  • Not a content creator role. You are not shooting, editing, or posting. We have someone who does that, and does it well. You brief them.
  • Not a social media manager role. This is not caption writing and scheduling.
  • Not a brand owner role. The vision and DNA are founder-led.
  • Not a strategy-only position. You plan it and then you make it happen.
  • Not a traditional desk job.

You are here to build and run the engine.

Please Show Us What You've Built

This is the most important part. In order to gauge fit, please show us;

  • Evidence of a community you've created or had a strong hand in growing, online or in real life. Size doesn't matter. Niche is fine.

Please either have this clear in your application, or email this directly to xav@mixtons.com alongside your cover letter/CV. We will not be looking at 'quick applies'.

Why Mixtons

  • Creative Freedom: You'll have the autonomy to bring bold ideas to life and make a real mark on the brand.
  • Equity Stake: Share in the success of the business with equity options.
  • Dynamic Environment: A fast-paced, innovation-driven company that values creativity and individuality.
