Marketing Coordinator

Location: Okehampton – Office-Based

Salary: £28,500 DOE

About the Company

We’re working with an established and growing business with a varied customer base and ambitious plans for the future. As part of its continued growth, the business is investing in its marketing capability, building a stronger in-house team while continuing to work with specialist external agency partners.

It’s a collaborative, down-to-earth environment where people are encouraged to get involved, share ideas and have a genuine influence on how the business and its brand develop.

The Role

This is a creative, hands-on Marketing Coordinator role with a particular focus on social media, content and brand. You’ll help bring the brand to life across their digital channels, creating and coordinating content, finding interesting stories from around the businesses and making sure their online presence feels engaging, relevant and consistent.

You won’t be doing this alone. You’ll work alongside another in-house marketing team member as well as external creative, digital and PR agencies, giving you plenty of opportunity to learn while also taking ownership of your own areas.

It’s a great opportunity for someone early in their marketing career who has strong creative instincts, understands social media and wants the freedom to get out into the business, find stories and turn them into great content.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Taking an active role in managing social media across LinkedIn and Meta.
  • Creating, scheduling and coordinating engaging content.
  • Getting out into the business to find customer, employee and community stories worth sharing.
  • Creating written, visual and video content for social and wider marketing channels.
  • Helping develop the personality and presence of both brands online.
  • Monitoring social engagement and responding to comments, messages and online reviews.
  • Supporting the delivery of wider brand and marketing campaigns.
  • Working with external creative, digital and PR agencies to coordinate activity and content.
  • Attending marketing meetings and helping turn campaign ideas into activity.
  • Supporting internal communications and employee storytelling.
  • Keeping an eye on social trends and bringing fresh ideas for content and campaigns.
  • Occasionally travelling to other locations, customers or events to capture content.
  • Providing occasional ad hoc administrative support to the wider team when required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

What We’re Looking For

You’ll be someone who naturally notices a good story, thinks creatively about how to communicate it and enjoys turning ideas into content.

You don’t need years of experience or to arrive knowing everything. What’s more important is that you have a genuine interest in marketing, understand how brands can use social media effectively and are happy to get stuck in.

You’ll enjoy being part of a close-knit business rather than sitting behind a desk waiting for a content brief. There will be plenty happening around you, and we’re looking for someone who wants to go and find the stories themselves.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Some previous experience within marketing, social media, content or communications.
  • A good understanding of social media, particularly LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram.
  • Strong written communication skills and an eye for engaging content.
  • Creative thinking and confidence bringing forward new ideas.
  • Comfortable creating or coordinating different types of content.
  • Strong organisation skills and the ability to manage multiple activities at once.
  • Confidence working with colleagues across different areas of a business.
  • A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership.
  • Comfortable working collaboratively with external agencies and internal colleagues.
  • Confident using Canva to create professional, on-brand marketing and social content.
  • Experience creating basic photography or video content, using social scheduling tools or updating website content would also be an advantage.

This is an opportunity to join a business that is genuinely investing in its marketing capability and become part of a growing in-house marketing team. For someone looking to build a broader marketing career, there’s plenty of opportunity to learn, develop and take on more responsibility as the marketing function continues to grow.
