JOB TITLE
Reports to: Marketing & Communications Manager
Salary: £26,000 – £32,000 per annum
Location: Basingstoke - Hybrid (with occasional travel to office as required)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

We are a CQC registered service delivering person-centred assessment, care, and support, with our ultimate aim being to improve the lives of people with neurodevelopmental conditions such as ADHD, Autism, and Learning disabilities.
Role Purpose
The Marketing & Design Assistant provides day-to-day support to the Marketing & Communications Manager in delivering Skylight Psychiatry's marketing and communications activity. This role helps maintain Skylight's social media presence, supports the creation and distribution of content, and provides administrative and coordination support across marketing projects.
The post holder will work closely with the Marketing & Communications Manager, helping to build Skylight's online presence, engage with key audiences, and ensure that outreach activity reflects the organisation's brand and values.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media Support
- Help maintain and update Skylight's social media platforms (including LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and any other relevant channels), under the direction of the Marketing & Communications Manager, ensuring content is published consistently and to a high standard.
- Create engaging, on-brand content including graphics, short-form video, written posts, and stories in line with the agreed content strategy.
- Support the set-up and day-to-day upkeep of a social media content calendar, helping to keep planned activity organised and on track.
- Monitor social media channels, respond to comments and messages appropriately, and escalate queries as needed.
- Help track and report on social media performance (e.g. reach, engagement, and follower growth), flagging opportunities to improve results.
- Keep up to date with trends in social media, digital marketing, and the neurodiversity/mental health space, to help inform content ideas.
Marketing Communications & Outreach Support
- Support the production and distribution of marketing communications including email campaigns, newsletters, and stakeholder updates, using the organisation's email marketing platform.
- Help track and report on email campaign performance (e.g. open rates, click-through rates, and engagement), using the organisation's email marketing platform.
- Help create tailored communications materials to support outreach activity to referral partners, universities, employers, and other external stakeholders.
- Support the set-up and population of the organisation's CRM/contact database system, and help keep mailing lists and records accurate and GDPR-compliant.
- Research relevant events, conferences, and engagement opportunities, and help with the practical planning needed to support Skylight's attendance.

Content & Creative Support
- Design and produce printed and digital marketing materials such as leaflets, brochures, and presentations, using InDesign and the wider Adobe Creative Suite.
- Design visual content using Adobe Photoshop, Canva, and other design tools, to support campaigns, service launches, and stakeholder engagement.
- Film simple video content (e.g. on a smartphone) and edit it into short-form pieces for social media and digital channels, using tools such as Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Contribute ideas and draft copy for campaigns, for review and sign-off by the Marketing & Communications Manager.
Website & Digital Support
- Help keep content on Skylight's website accurate and up to date.
- Help monitor and report on website performance (e.g. visits, traffic sources, and key page trends), using tools such as Google Analytics.
- Assist with basic SEO activity and digital advertising as directed.
General Marketing Support
- Provide administrative support to the Marketing & Communications Manager as required.
- Assist with the coordination of events, webinars, and partnership activity.
- Help pull together regular reporting summaries across social media, email, and website activity for the Marketing & Communications Manager, and contribute to wider team planning and reporting as directed.

Person Specification
Essential
- Degree or HND in Marketing, Communications, Media, Design, or a related field (or equivalent experience or portfolio).
- Experience supporting or managing social media platforms in a professional or organisational context.
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and InDesign, alongside design tools such as Canva.
- Strong written communication skills with an eye for detail and brand consistency.
- Knowledge of GDPR requirements in relation to marketing and data management.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.
- Collaborative and proactive approach, with a willingness to support wider team activity.

Desirable
- Experience using email marketing platforms.
- Experience using a CRM or contact database platform.
- Experience filming simple video content for social media, e.g. using a smartphone (no professional videography experience needed).
- Experience editing video content using Adobe Premiere Pro or similar software.
- Familiarity with basic SEO principles and website content management.
- Interest in or knowledge of neurodiversity, mental health, or healthcare services.
Flexible Working Options
- The company is on a mainly remote basis with occasional travel to our head office. However, the office is available for more regular days.
- There is an ability to vary start and finish times (e.g. between 8am and 6pm) while maintaining core hours.
- Option to work compressed hours (full weekly hours over four days).
- Adjusted hours for appointments/caring responsibilities with prior arrangement.
