Global events business seeks highly accomplished Marketing Director to lead a marketing team and take on a key strategic role developing a portfolio of events.

About the Role

Strategic responsibility for the Division’s marketing performance - including hiring, developing and effectively leading a team of three marketers and editorial who are responsible for creating and executing innovative, international marketing plans. Working in close collaboration with the Marketing Director and Managing Director to reach divisional growth targets, this role has as its focus to:

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Management of Large-Scale Portfolio of Events
  • Develop and regularly communicate the Division’s marketing vision, goals and results
  • Execute one marketing test per month and share
  • Prepare and execute the marketing plans for approximately 6 events a year, alongside marketing team
  • Ensure the marketing department are maximising their use of marketing systems to drive efficiencies and results
  • Measure overall key marketing indicators and report to the group weekly e.g. marketing performance, innovations, inquiry conversion, along with recommendations for improving marketing profitability
  • Meet regularly with other department heads to ensure marketing is effectively working with other office functions e.g. production, sales, SPEX, customer service; to achieve organisational goals
  • Proactively identify competitor strategy shifts as well as new marketing methodologies
  • Work with the other marketing heads as a senior marketing strategy team to generate and assist in best practice and global strategy development
  • Review and proof marketing copy, websites and marketing collateral
  • Develop and execute on editorial strategy to create compelling industry led content across portfolio of events, alongside editorial team

Qualifications

  • 5+ years marketing experience, ideally gained within b2b conferences / exhibitions
  • 2+ management experience, with proven ability to coach and motivate staff effectively
  • Experience with digital marketing (SEO & SEM, social media etc.)
  • Bachelor level education or equivalent – ideally within marketing or communications
