MARKETING DIRECTOR

Shoreditch, London | 4 Days Per Week in Office | Up to £150,000 + 30% Bonus + Benefits

Please note: This role is office-based four days per week in Shoreditch, London. Applicants must already have the unrestricted right to live and work in the UK as sponsorship isn't available.

This is not a traditional Marketing Director role. We're exclusively representing a creator-led media and technology business that is looking to hire a Marketing Director to build and scale its marketing function.

About the Business

The business operates at the intersection of creators, media, technology and community, helping influential individuals build audiences, develop products and create scalable businesses. They're looking for a Marketing Director who thinks like a founder.

Someone who understands how markets are created, how audiences are built and how attention is converted into long-term commercial value. This is a role for someone who enjoys building - creating the strategies, systems and infrastructure that allow brands, products and audiences to scale.

The Role

Building Growth Systems Across Creator-Led Businesses

  • You'll build the marketing engine behind a portfolio of creator-led brands, products and communities.
  • This is not about managing individual campaigns or channels.
  • You'll create repeatable growth systems that connect:
    • Content
    • Creators
    • Platforms
    • Communities
    • Data
    • Commercial opportunities
  • You'll understand what drives audience behaviour, how content travels and how successful marketing activity can become a repeatable playbook.
  • Whilst nobody can manufacture viral moments on demand, you'll create the frameworks and processes that maximise the opportunity for brands to capture attention and turn it into sustainable growth.

Finding Audiences & Creating Demand

  • You'll think commercially and entrepreneurially.
  • You'll understand markets, audiences and customer behaviour - identifying opportunities, defining positioning and creating strategies that generate demand.
  • You'll answer questions such as:
    • Who is the audience?
    • Where do they spend their attention?
    • How do we reach them?
    • What makes them engage?
    • How do we turn attention into customers, communities and long-term value?
  • You'll work closely with senior leadership, creators and commercial teams to shape growth strategies across the business.

Developing Marketing Playbooks

  • You'll create the frameworks that allow each brand, product and creator partnership to grow.
  • You'll develop playbooks across:
    • Audience acquisition
    • Content distribution
    • Platform strategy
    • Launch planning
    • Community growth
    • Partnerships
    • Retention
    • First-party data
  • You'll ensure successful marketing activity creates learnings that can be applied repeatedly, building a stronger growth engine over time.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Turning Attention Into Owned Audiences

  • You'll understand that attention is only the beginning.
  • You'll build strategies that convert audiences into valuable long-term relationships through:
    • Email
    • Community
    • Membership
    • Events
    • First-party data
  • Working closely with BI and analytics teams, you'll create insight loops that improve decision-making and identify the activities that drive sustainable growth.

Building the Marketing Function

  • You'll build and lead a high-performing marketing team.
  • You'll establish the standards, priorities and operating principles required to support a growing business.
  • You'll create a culture where teams understand:
    • What to test
    • What to scale
    • What to stop
    • Where to invest
  • You'll have the confidence to make difficult decisions and focus resources on the opportunities that create the greatest impact.

The Person We're Looking For

We're looking for an entrepreneurial marketing leader who has built something before. You may come from:

  • Creator-led businesses
  • Media
  • Entertainment
  • Publishing
  • Social-first brands
  • High-growth consumer businesses
  • Digital platforms
  • Technology businesses

The title matters less than what you've built.

You'll have experience creating growth strategies, building audiences and developing systems that take brands, products or communities from one stage of growth to another. You'll understand modern marketing is not simply about campaigns. It's about:

  • Creating demand
  • Understanding audiences
  • Building communities
  • Using data intelligently
  • Creating distribution advantages
  • Turning attention into commercial value

You'll thrive here if you:

  • Think like an entrepreneur, not just a marketer.
  • Have built and scaled audiences, brands or products.
  • Understand creators, platforms and modern media.
  • Have developed repeatable growth systems.
  • Balance brand building with commercial outcomes.
  • Use data to improve decisions.
  • Are comfortable operating with ambiguity.
  • Enjoy building teams, processes and infrastructure.
  • Want genuine ownership of outcomes.

This role probably isn't for you if:

  • Your experience is mainly campaign delivery.
  • You've managed channels without owning growth strategy.
  • You've never built audiences or created demand.
  • You need an established structure and process to succeed.
  • Your background is purely brand marketing without measurable growth outcomes.

Why Join?

This is an opportunity to shape the marketing strategy behind a fast-growing creator-led business operating at the intersection of media, technology and community.

You'll have the opportunity to build the systems, teams and strategies that define how the business scales. For someone who thinks like a founder, understands audiences and enjoys creating growth engines, this represents a significant opportunity. If you're a Marketing Director who has built audiences, created demand and understands how modern consumers engage with brands, we'd like to hear from you.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate is a senior marketing leader and genuine builder who has experience taking a brand, audience or marketing function through a significant stage of growth.

They may come from a creator-led business, media, publishing, social-first brand, high-growth D2C business or digital platform. Their job title is less important than the scale and impact of what they have built.

They will combine the strategic thinking of a senior marketing leader with the commercial instinct and pace of a growth operator. They understand that modern marketing is about more than campaigns and paid acquisition - it's about creating attention, building audiences and turning that attention into long-term, owned relationships.

They'll be comfortable working directly with a founder or high-profile entrepreneur, operating with a high degree of autonomy and making decisions in a fast-moving environment.

Above all, they're someone who wants to build something exceptional. They enjoy starting with a blank page, creating the strategy, putting the right systems and people in place, and taking ownership of the outcome.

This is a role for someone who wants to be close to the work, close to the leadership team and close to the impact.
