About the Role
The Marketing Director, Europe is a critical role responsible for building Billtrust's brand and demand generation engine across Europe from the ground up, in direct partnership with the CMO and cross-functional leadership.
As part of scaling Billtrust across European markets, you will build go-to-market and brand awareness strategy in priority markets like the UK and Germany, develop market-entry strategy for new geographies, and act as an embedded partner to regional sales, SDR, and CS teams.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
- Own the European marketing strategy and P&L-aligned plan, setting country/region priorities, targets, and budget allocation in direct support of pipeline and revenue goals set with the CMO and NA leadership.
- Develop market-entry strategies for new European geographies, including sequencing, positioning, and channel selection.
- Operate with a high degree of autonomy, making day-to-day regional decisions while keeping the NA-based CMO aligned on strategy, budget, and results.
- Report on regional marketing performance, pipeline contribution, and awareness metrics to the CMO and broader leadership.
- Manage regional marketing budget, forecasting, and vendor contracts.
Go-to-Market & Demand Generation
- Build and execute a go-to-market and brand-awareness strategy tailored to each priority European market, recognizing the company is largely unknown particularly in UK & Germany, two top priority markets, and requires demand generation from a low-awareness starting point.
- Localize and adapt content, messaging, and campaigns into local languages and cultural context rather than simply translating NA assets.
- Plan and activate regional events (field marketing, trade shows, roadshows) end-to-end, from budget and vendor selection through execution and ROI reporting.
- Run digital marketing (paid, SEO/SEM, social, web) localized by market, with performance tracked against pipeline and awareness KPIs.
Partnerships, PR & Cross-Functional Execution
- Manage regional PR and comms, including relationships with local PR agency, to build brand credibility and press presence market by market.
- Build and manage a partner marketing program with regional resellers/partners, including co-marketing funds, joint campaigns, and enablement.
- Work as an embedded partner to regional sales leaders, sellers, SDRs, and CSMs despite a lean team, aligning marketing activity tightly to sales priorities and pipeline coverage.
- Tap resources in North America for Operations support, content creation, web needs, etc.
- Source, hire, and manage external contractors and agencies (creative, digital, PR, events) to extend capacity.
What You’ll Bring
Required Skills:
- 8–10 years in B2B marketing, with several years in a European regional or country marketing leadership role.
- Track record building marketing in new or low-awareness markets (brand-building/market-entry experience), not just scaling an already-known brand.
- Experience spanning multiple channels: field/events, digital, content, PR — able to both strategize and execute hands-on given a lean team.
- Proven ability to manage agencies and contractors effectively, essentially running an “extended team” model.
- Experience operating autonomously and cross-functionally with sales, SDRs, and CS in a matrixed, remote-from-HQ structure (reporting to a NA-based CMO).
- Multi-market European experience (especially UK, DACH, Benelux) with cultural and localization fluency.
- Strong analytical/planning skills — able to set and report against KPIs tied to pipeline and awareness goals.
- Based in London.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, resource-constrained environment typical of scaling a US company into Europe.
