Marketing Director & Founding Member

UK-based | Fully remote | Independent consultancy / Founding Member opportunity

We’re an early-stage, bootstrapped AI consultancy and growth services agency building an agile, AI-enabled delivery model around insight, strategy, driving performance and measurable business growth. We’re looking to appoint a hands-on Marketing Director to lead our Marketing function, shape client strategy and help build scalable delivery capability as the business grows. This is not a fractional CMO or advisory position. We need someone who can move confidently between strategic thinking and practical delivery: interpreting evidence, identifying the underlying commercial or marketing challenge, developing clear recommendations and turning them into executable plans.

THE OPPORTUNITY

You will:

  • Lead commercially grounded marketing and growth strategy for the business and its clients;
  • Synthesise research, performance evidence, diagnostic findings and stakeholder insight into clear strategic recommendations;
  • Translate audits and diagnostics into prioritised growth opportunities, roadmaps and ongoing client programmes;
  • Develop implementation frameworks, plans, KPIs and measurement approaches;
  • Direct integrated marketing strategies and campaigns across appropriate channels;
  • Provide senior marketing judgement across client diagnostics, strategic reviews and retainers;
  • Brief, coordinate and quality-assure specialist marketing resource;
  • Build scalable Marketing processes, standards and delivery capability;
  • Collaborate effectively across the wider business;
  • Support GTM, pitches, proposals and new client opportunities; and
  • Use AI, automation and emerging technologies to improve the quality, speed and scalability of marketing strategy and delivery.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

You’ll be an experienced B2B Marketing Director, senior Head of Marketing or senior marketing strategist with strong commercial judgement and client-facing credibility. You should be able to combine strategic synthesis with practical delivery, converting complex information into clear commercial narratives, recommendations and implementation plans.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

HOW WE WORK

We’re building a lean, entrepreneurial, high-performing and highly accountable business. We value people who take ownership, move at pace, think commercially and maintain high standards without needing heavy structure or supervision.

Our culture is collaborative, open, honest and respectful. We expect people to challenge constructively, follow through on commitments, work effectively across functions and use AI and technology intelligently to improve both quality and efficiency. We believe purpose and profit should go hand in hand. We want to build a commercially successful business while using marketing, technology and AI responsibly to create positive impact for our clients and the organisations they serve. This opportunity will suit someone who enjoys ambiguity, wants genuine influence over how a business and function are built, and is motivated by creating long-term value.

FOUNDING MEMBER MODEL

  • The initial engagement is as an independent consultant and Founding Member, rather than an employed position.
  • Expected BAU contribution is approximately 8+ hours per week, flexibly managed.
  • Agreed BAU contribution accrues towards equity in the whole company under our Founding Member model rather than being paid in cash.
  • Contribution is currently recognised at £45 per hour for equity-accrual purposes until the business reaches break-even.
  • At the anticipated contribution level, the Marketing Director could accrue approximately 1-2% equity by break-even, with scope to accrue more through greater agreed contribution.
  • Separately commissioned client delivery is paid at £45 per hour.
  • Paid client hours are expected to increase as the business grows but are not guaranteed.
  • Equity accrual stops at break-even, when the Founding Member allocation crystallises.
  • Existing Founding Members have built meaningful ownership positions through the same contribution-based model.

If business growth, role requirements and mutual fit support it, there is a potential pathway into a substantive employed Marketing Director position as the business scales. Any future employment arrangement, compensation and share-option participation would be determined at that stage based on the needs and financial position of the business and should not be regarded as guaranteed. This opportunity is likely to suit someone who wants more than another freelance engagement: someone who wants genuine functional ownership, meaningful participation in the value they help create and the opportunity to build with the business over the longer term.

HOW TO APPLY

Please email your CV and a short cover letter, including a link to your LinkedIn profile, to: carole@aimpactagency.ai Your cover letter should briefly explain why this opportunity and Founding Member model are of interest to you and highlight the experience most relevant to the appointment.
