🚀 Marketing Director | Space, Defence & Deep Tech

London | Hybrid - Full Time, Permanent

We’re working with a high-growth UK space technology company developing advanced Earth observation and geospatial solutions for customers across defence, government, critical infrastructure, and climate resilience.

They’re looking for a Marketing Director to take ownership of the company’s brand, positioning, communications, content, and demand generation as the business enters its next phase of international growth.

This is a hands-on leadership role - ideal for a commercially-minded marketing leader who can set the strategic direction while still getting involved in the execution.

You’ll work closely with Sales, Commercial, Product, and Executive leadership, helping translate highly technical technology into clear, compelling propositions for very different audiences.

🛰️ The Role

You’ll own the marketing strategy across multiple markets and customer segments, adapting the company's messaging and go-to-market approach for audiences ranging from defence and government organizations to infrastructure, enterprise, and climate-focused customers.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and owning the overall marketing strategy and annual marketing plan
  • Leading go-to-market strategy for new products, capabilities, and market launches
  • Defining the company's brand positioning, messaging, tone of voice, and narrative
  • Building demand-generation programs that contribute directly to pipeline and revenue
  • Working closely with Sales and Commercial teams to improve lead generation, sales enablement, and conversion
  • Leading corporate communications, PR, and external brand activity
  • Overseeing content, digital marketing, social media, and inbound growth
  • Using market and competitor intelligence to identify new opportunities and refine positioning
  • Developing the company's marketing operations, CRM, and automation capabilities
  • Managing marketing budgets, agencies, suppliers, and external partners
  • Building and mentoring the marketing team as the function grows
  • Reporting marketing performance, pipeline contribution, and ROI to senior leadership and investors

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

🌍 Marketing Technical Products to Complex Buyers

This isn't a role where a one-size-fits-all marketing strategy will work.

You'll need to understand how to communicate complex technology to very different audiences - from defence and government stakeholders to commercial infrastructure and climate resilience organizations.

You'll translate technical capabilities into clear customer value and build marketing strategies that work across different industries, geographies, and buying environments.

🎯 What We're Looking For

We're looking for a senior marketing professional who combines strategic leadership with a willingness to execute.

You'll ideally have experience with:

  • Marketing technically complex products or services
  • Working across multiple customer segments and adapting positioning accordingly
  • Building demand-generation strategies linked to pipeline, revenue, and commercial outcomes
  • Developing and owning brand identity, positioning, and corporate narrative
  • Working closely with Sales and Commercial teams on GTM and revenue growth
  • Presenting strategy, performance, and results to senior leadership and/or investors
  • Managing marketing budgets, agencies, and external partners
  • Building marketing processes and teams within a startup or scale-up environment
  • Using CRM and marketing automation platforms such as Salesforce
  • Operating effectively in a fast-moving environment where you'll need to be both strategic and hands-on
