MARKETING DIRECTOR
London | 4 Days Per Week in Office | Up to £120,000 + Bonus + Benefits
Please note: This is an office-based role, with four days per week in the London office. Applicants must already have the unrestricted right to live and work in the UK, as sponsorship isn't available.
A global creator-led media business is looking for a Marketing Director to lead the marketing strategy across its growing portfolio of podcasts, creators and media brands.
The business sits at the intersection of entertainment, culture, technology and audience growth, with a portfolio of established media properties and further growth planned.
But what makes the business particularly interesting is how it operates.
The culture is much closer to a high-growth technology company than a traditional media business.
It's fast-moving, highly data-led and product-minded, with teams encouraged to test, learn, iterate and build systems that can scale.
You'll be working alongside people across marketing, product, content, technology, commercial and production, with a shared focus on building audiences and creating media products that can grow.
This isn't a traditional Marketing Director role focused on campaigns, brand awareness or managing marketing channels.
It's about building audiences, growing media products and creating the marketing systems that help creator-led brands become bigger, stronger and more commercially valuable.
You'll work closely with creators, production teams, commercial leaders and senior stakeholders to shape how each media brand grows.
The Role
Developing the Marketing Strategy Behind Each Podcast
- You'll take ownership of the marketing direction for a portfolio of podcasts and creator-led media products.
- You'll understand what makes each brand unique, who its audience is and how to keep that audience engaged over time.
- Working closely with creators and content teams, you'll identify opportunities to grow audiences, increase engagement and ensure each show continues to evolve with its audience.
- You'll bring the marketing perspective into decisions around content, positioning, launches and audience development.
Building Marketing Playbooks That Drive Consistent Growth
- Great media brands aren't built on one-off viral moments.
- Whilst nobody can recreate a viral moment on demand, the best marketing teams create the systems, processes and playbooks that maximise the opportunity for content to succeed.
- You'll develop repeatable marketing frameworks across the portfolio, covering areas such as:
- Audience growth strategies
- Launch and episode promotion
- Channel strategies across YouTube, podcast platforms and social media
- Content distribution
- Community engagement
- Creator collaborations
- Partnership opportunities
- Performance measurement and optimisation
- You'll make sure successful campaigns create learnings that can be applied again, building a stronger and more scalable marketing engine across the portfolio.
Identifying Strategic Partnerships
- You'll identify opportunities for partnerships between the portfolio and relevant brands.
- You'll understand the audience behind each podcast and recognise which partnerships genuinely add value.
- Whether that's identifying a consumer brand that naturally aligns with a particular audience or developing larger strategic collaborations, you'll help create partnerships that feel authentic and commercially valuable.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Attracting the Next Generation of Creators
- A key part of the company's growth strategy is continuing to build relationships with talented creators.
- You'll help position the business as the destination for talented podcast hosts, YouTubers, writers and creators looking for the right partner to help scale their audience.
- You'll develop the marketing strategy that communicates why creators should choose the business as the home for their next stage of growth.
We're looking for someone who has
- Experience marketing and growing a podcast, media product, entertainment brand or audience-led consumer business
- A proven track record of growing audiences across digital channels
- Experience developing marketing strategies for content-led brands
- A strong understanding of how audiences discover, engage with and build loyalty towards media products
- Experience building marketing playbooks, frameworks and repeatable growth strategies
- The ability to identify commercial partnership opportunities that align with audiences and brands
- Experience working closely with creators, talent or public-facing personalities
- Experience leading and developing high-performing marketing teams
- Strong commercial judgement and the ability to connect audience growth to business outcomes
- A test-and-learn mindset, with the ability to use data and insight to continually improve marketing performance
Backgrounds we'd love to see
We're particularly interested in candidates from:
- Podcast networks
- Consumer publishing
- Digital media
- Entertainment
- Streaming platforms
- Creator economy businesses
- Sports media
- News and editorial brands
- Content-led subscription businesses
- Technology businesses with strong consumer audiences
The exact background matters less than having genuinely grown audiences and built marketing strategies around consumer-facing content or media products.
This role probably isn't for you if...
- Your experience is primarily agency-side without owning audience growth
- Your background is mainly B2B marketing
- You've focused on campaigns rather than building long-term audiences
- You've never marketed a consumer-facing media product, content platform or audience-led brand
- You're looking for a traditional brand marketing role rather than a role combining marketing, audience growth, content and commercial strategy
Why join?
- This is an opportunity to shape the future growth strategy of a portfolio of creator-led media brands while working in a culture that operates more like a technology company than a traditional media organisation.
- You'll have the autonomy to build the marketing systems, partnerships and audience strategies that define how these brands grow.
- You'll also work at the intersection of creators, content, culture, technology and data, alongside teams that are constantly testing new ideas and looking for better ways to build and scale media products.
- If you've helped scale a podcast, media brand or audience-led business and want to build the next generation of entertainment marketing, we'd like to hear from you.

Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a senior marketing leader and genuine builder who has experience scaling brands, audiences or marketing functions within entertainment, media, creator-led businesses or consumer platforms.
You'll have experience operating beyond a single campaign or channel, thinking about how multiple platforms and audiences work together to create sustained growth. You'll understand how attention is created, how it spreads and, most importantly, how to turn it into an audience and brand that can grow over time.
You'll bring a strong understanding of content, creators, culture and distribution, alongside the commercial and data-led thinking needed to build a marketing engine that delivers measurable results.
You're likely to have experience working across multiple brands, products or audiences and will be comfortable setting the overall strategy while empowering a team to execute it. You'll know how to build high-performing teams, establish clear standards and create the frameworks that allow people to do their best work.
You won't be someone who simply wants to manage an established marketing function. You're excited by the opportunity to build the systems, strategy and team that will define how a portfolio of creator-led entertainment brands grows.
Above all, you're comfortable making difficult decisions, challenging assumptions and deciding where to focus. You understand that great marketing isn't about doing more - it's about knowing what matters most, why it matters and how to make it compound.
