Marketing Engagement Analyst

Manchester / Hybrid – 2 days per week in the office

Marketing Technology Consultancy

We’re looking for a Marketing Engagement Analyst to join a growing Business Intelligence function, using data to understand customer behaviour, marketing performance and what’s driving engagement.

This is a hands-on analytics role covering the full analytics lifecycle – from extracting and working with data, through to building reports and delivering deeper analysis that helps the business understand not just what is happening, but why.

You don’t need to tick every technical box. We’re looking for someone with a strong analytical mindset who is comfortable working with SQL and wants to continue developing across BI, marketing analytics and more advanced analytical techniques.

What you’ll be doing

  • Use SQL to extract, explore and analyse customer, CRM and marketing data.
  • Investigate trends and changes in performance, understanding what is driving the numbers rather than simply reporting them.
  • Analyse areas such as customer behaviour, conversion, retention, segmentation and campaign performance.
  • Build reports and dashboards that turn complex data into clear, commercially useful insight.
  • Work closely with Marketing and BI teams to understand business questions and translate them into meaningful analysis.
  • Support campaign measurement and test-and-learn activity, helping the business understand what is and isn't working.
  • Present findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Work with larger datasets and different data sources, ensuring analysis is accurate and reliable.
  • Develop your exposure to more advanced analytics, statistical techniques and analytical tools as the role grows.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What we’re looking for

You’ll have previous experience in a Data Analyst, BI Analyst, Marketing Analyst, Customer Analyst, Insight Analyst or similar analytical role.

The main technical requirement is being comfortable building and interpreting SQL queries. You should be confident working with data independently and able to investigate a business question from the initial data extraction through to presenting your conclusions.

Experience with a visualisation tool such as Tableau, Power BI or Looker would be useful, but we’re not looking for someone who ticks every possible box.

Experience with Python or R, ETL, machine learning, statistical analysis, CRM/customer data or marketing analytics would all be beneficial, but none are essential.

More importantly, you'll be curious about the story behind the data, comfortable asking "why?", and able to turn your analysis into practical recommendations that stakeholders can actually use.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on with data and wants to develop across the full analytics lifecycle, while gaining further exposure to marketing, customer insight and advanced analytics.
