Noah's Ark Zoo Farm is looking for a Marketing & Events Assistant to join our friendly Marketing Team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to develop their marketing and events experience within a busy visitor attraction and conservation charity.
About The Role
Working as part of our Marketing Team, you'll provide support across a wide range of marketing activity, with a particular focus on helping us deliver our annual programme of events.
Our events are an important part of the visitor experience. From seasonal celebrations and family activities to special events and fundraising initiatives, you'll help the team bring these experiences to life and make sure they're promoted effectively.
You'll work closely with colleagues across Marketing, Education, Operations and Customer Service, as well as external suppliers, partners and other organisations.
This is a hands-on role, so you'll be involved in the practical delivery of marketing activity as well as the planning and administration behind it.
Events
What You'll Be Doing
- Supporting the planning and delivery of our annual programme of events.
- Helping to develop and improve our events calendar.
- Supporting event administration, planning schedules, checklists and supplier information.
- Liaising with suppliers, vendors, internal departments and external partners.
- Supporting the promotion of events across our marketing channels.
- Helping with event set-up and on-the-day coordination.
- Supporting the team in gathering feedback and information to understand how events have performed and how they could be improved.

Digital Marketing
You'll also gain experience across our digital marketing activity, including:
- Supporting our Senior Digital Marketing Coordinator with social media content for platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and YouTube.
- Assisting with photography and video shoots.
- Helping to keep website content and online listings accurate and engaging.
- Liaising with our web management agency regarding website updates.
- Supporting the team with monitoring social media comments, customer feedback and digital engagement.
- Helping to respond to customer questions and queries across digital channels.
- Supporting the production of education and Jungle Tots e-newsletters.
Marketing, PR & Communications
You'll provide wider support to the Marketing Team, including:
- Supporting PR activity and distribution of press releases.
- Maintaining our press contact database.
- Monitoring competitor activity, including events, pricing, new attractions and marketing activity.
- Supporting fundraising and promotional activity.
- Helping with marketing research and administration.
- Supporting the production of monthly marketing and customer feedback reports.
- Representing Noah's Ark Zoo Farm at relevant industry events and conferences where required.
Education & Customer Support
You'll also have the opportunity to support other areas of the organisation, including:
- Assisting the Education Team with education sessions and public engagement activities.
- Supporting the wider customer service function by answering customer calls and emails when required.
- Providing office cover as part of a rota, including two weekend days per month and occasional Bank Holidays.
About You
We're looking for someone who is organised, enthusiastic and keen to learn.
You don't need to have extensive marketing experience. We're more interested in finding someone with the right attitude, a willingness to get involved and a genuine interest in developing their career.
You'll Ideally Have
- Some experience in marketing, events, communications, administration, customer service or a similar environment.
- An interest in developing a career in marketing and events.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence using computers and standard office software.
- An interest in digital marketing and social media.
- A friendly and approachable manner.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to get involved and learn.
- The ability to work well as part of a team.

Working Hours
The role is 4.5 days per week, comprising four weekdays per week plus two weekend days per month, totalling an average of 36 hours per week.
The role will also involve occasional Bank Holiday working and supporting events outside normal working hours when required.
