I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What Are We Looking For?
We're looking for someone who is naturally curious, creative and full of ideas, but who also knows how to turn those ideas into action. You'll be equally comfortable creating social content from around the hotel, working on a photoshoot, writing compelling copy, designing marketing materials, analysing campaign performance and supporting commercial priorities across the business.
The kind of person who will thrive in this role:
- Big ideas, small details. You are creative by nature but understand that great execution matters just as much as great ideas.
- A storyteller. You know how to turn people, places, food, experiences and moments into content that captures attention and inspires action.
- Commercially minded. You understand that successful marketing should drive awareness, engagement, enquiries and revenue.
- Curious by nature. You stay on top of trends across hospitality, travel, social media, food, fashion and culture, always looking for opportunities to bring fresh thinking to London Hilton on Park Lane.
- A self-starter. You take ownership, spot opportunities and aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves to get things done.
- People-focused. You enjoy building relationships across departments and working collaboratively with internal teams, agencies, partners and suppliers.
- Adaptable and organised. You can manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
- Passionate about hospitality. You love creating memorable experiences and showcasing what makes a hotel unique.
- Ready to make an impact. You're excited by the opportunity to help create moments that people want to visit, share and talk about.
