About Lawtons Solicitors
We are a specialist criminal defence firm and one of the leading firms in London and the South East in relation to criminal law. We are recognised by the Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners in relation to our work. We have offices across London and the South East and undertake work around England & Wales and also receive client instructions from overseas.
Overview - Marketing Executive
As leading Criminal Defence Solicitors, we want to ensure that prospective clients recognise our ability to guide them through the criminal process and that in choosing us, we can ensure that they receive an expert legal service.
The first port of call for a prospective client is our website and the content of that site needs to be maintained in order that our brand can be promoted. We want to ensure we promote an authoritative professional voice that complements our heritage.
The Marketing Executive will be in charge of managing Lawtons’ website, creating long-form written content that is informative, accurate and SEO-optimised. The role also involves social media management and content creation. While prior knowledge of criminal law is not essential, the ideal candidate will be able to quickly learn and understand the essentials of criminal law proceedings.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
