I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Who Are We Hoping Will Apply?
We're looking for someone with at least two years' marketing experience who is confident taking ownership of their work and enjoys working collaboratively.
You'll ideally have experience within professional services, although this isn't essential. What matters most is that you have a good understanding of marketing and can demonstrate experience using different channels to engage audiences and achieve results.
We're particularly interested in someone with:
- Experience across marketing channels including content, social media, email, campaigns and events.
- Strong copywriting and communication skills.
- The ability to use data and insight to understand performance and improve activity.
- Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines.
- Confidence working with a range of stakeholders and building positive relationships.
- A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience using CRM systems and marketing automation tools.
Line management experience would be a bonus, as you'll provide support and guidance to our Marketing Assistant.
A degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related subject would be advantageous. Knowledge of graphic design or experience using design software would also be helpful, but isn't essential.
Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is creative, curious, organised and commercially minded, with plenty of enthusiasm for marketing and a desire to make things better.
