MARKETING EXECUTIVE
LOVE SUM · Reading + hybrid · Full-time
Hello there. Here for the dumplings? Funny how a job search can make you hungry.
We’re a food start-up making fresh, chilled dumplings here in the UK. Our co-founder, MasterChef finalist Sandy Tang, creates every recipe.
You’ll already find us in Sainsbury’s, Ocado and other retailers. You might even have spotted Sandy on Dragons’ Den, where Peter Jones offered to invest.
We want to make room for dumplings in fridges across the country. To help us get there, we’re looking for a Marketing Executive to join our new CMO as the second person in marketing.
There’s plenty to get your teeth into. You’ll help shape ideas, make things happen and see your work out in the world. On someone’s feed. On a supermarket shelf. Occasionally on a tote bag.
WHAT YOU’LL GET INVOLVED IN
Brand & campaigns
Come up with ideas, turn them into briefs and work with the right people to get them made and live.
Social & content
Help make Love Sum worth following. Come up with ideas, create and commission content, get it out there and keep the conversation going. Pay attention to what people respond to and bring your own ideas for what we do next.
Creators, influencers & brands
Find people we should work with and help make those relationships happen, from first hello through gifting, briefs and collabs.
Retail & shopper
Help us get noticed where people shop. Support launches, promotions, sampling and point-of-sale activity with our retail customers, in-store and online.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why you're a good match
StrongYour economics background and your summer at a regional bank line up with what PwC looks for on the consulting scheme. Applications close in four weeks.
See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match

Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
New products & packaging
Get involved from the early “what if?” through to design, artwork and launch. Help shape what people pick up and take home.
Creative production
Help coordinate creative work, from the brief to the finished piece. Bring a good eye and a few wild ideas, and help keep things moving.
Events, partnerships & merch
Help find the right opportunities, work out the details and get things made. Sometimes you’ll be there making it all happen, too.
Results
Look at what worked, what sold and what we should change. Have ideas. Try them. Pay attention to what happens.
A BIT ABOUT YOU
You’ve worked with consumer brands and you’re ready to get more involved.
You might be a Marketing Executive or Assistant Brand Manager in FMCG, food and drink or another consumer business. Or an agency Senior Account Executive or Account Manager who fancies getting properly involved in one brand. Ours, ideally.
You understand social and digital. You can write, have a good eye and care about the details. You’re organised enough to keep a few things moving, comfortable with numbers and curious about what makes someone actually buy.
You like trying things and learning what works. You’re interested in new technology and AI, and where they might be useful.

Get help with your application
Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
You can get on with things independently, ask for help when you need it and lend a hand when someone else does.
Experience in food and drink, grocery, content, shopper marketing, new products, packaging or creative production would all be useful.
All of it? We’d be surprised. We don’t expect you to arrive knowing everything.
THE SMALL-TEAM BIT
You’ll work directly with our CMO, whose experience spans agency and brand roles, and with the founders on some projects. You’ll have support and encouragement to take ownership.
Some projects will be yours. Some will be shared. Occasionally, everyone will be carrying boxes. Things can move quickly here. You’ll get to see an idea through, learn from what happens and have a say in what comes next.
THE PRACTICAL BIT
Full-time, with four days a week together in our Reading office and one working from home. We want the right person. We’ll make sure the salary reflects that.
SOUND LIKE YOUR THING?
Apply with your CV and a short letter. Tell us why this role caught your eye and about something you’ve helped make happen. Use AI if you like. Just make sure the letter sounds like you and the thinking is yours.
We want everyone to have a fair chance to show us what they can do. If there’s anything we can do to make the application process work better for you, just let us know.
We’ve told you a bit about us. Your turn. 🥟
