An exciting time to join

The Royal Thames is entering one of the busiest and most exciting periods in its long history, and we are looking for a creative, hands-on marketer to help tell its story.

Based at our Clubhouse in London, you will promote an ambitious 2027 sailing programme headlined by the now biennial 250 Regatta in Cowes, alongside a busy year-round social calendar of dinners, wine tastings and member events at the Clubhouse.

It is also a time of growth for the Club as we finalise the merger with the Royal London Yacht Club bring the two clubs together, adding fresh energy to everything we do.

The role

You will own the Club's marketing and communications day to day, producing engaging content across print and digital channels for members, guests and the wider sailing community. Key responsibilities include:

  • Content creation: writing and producing member newsletters and regular social media content across the Club's channels.
  • Design: creating posters, banners, menus and promotional material in Canva, keeping the Club's look consistent and polished.
  • Press and PR: writing press releases and building relationships with sailing and local media, particularly around the 250 Regatta and major events.
  • Website: playing a key part in the refresh of the Club website as we bring the two clubs together and keeping content fresh and up to date.
  • Events support: working closely with the sailing and events teams to promote the busy sailing and social programme, including on-the-day content.
  • Bringing the clubs together: supporting communications as we welcome Royal London members, in a clear, positive and welcoming way.

About you

  • Experience in a marketing, communications or content role, ideally in sailing or other sports.
  • A confident, versatile writer who can move easily between a newsletter, a social post and a press release.
  • Strong design eye and practical skill in Canva/other design software.
  • Comfortable managing social media channels and planning content ahead.
  • Organised, proactive and happy juggling several projects at once.
  • A team player who enjoys being out and about capturing what is happening at the Club.
  • An interest in sailing is a real plus.
