The Opportunity

A vacancy has arisen for a dynamic, consumer-centric Marketing Executive in Clarion’s Enthusiast Department across the Baby portfolio - The Baby Show Olympia London, The Baby Show Excel London and, The Baby Show NEC Birmingham.

Born in 2002, The Baby Show is the leading Baby, Pregnancy and Parenting B2C Event in the UK. Taking place three times a year at Excel London, NEC Birmingham and Olympia London, the live show supports some 70,000 expectant and new parents, babies and grandparents every year.

With the show being the nation’s largest shopping destination for all things baby, attendees can compare, try and buy from over 350 brands. It also offers a unique visitor experience with free support, information and advice from the UK’s leading baby and parenting experts on everything from sleep, birth, breastfeeding and first aid to weaning and development.

This exciting new role offers a great opportunity to have an impact on all the above events. The role will work closely with the Marketing Manager, and Senior Marketing Campaign Executive to implement each marketing plan in line with the event strategy. You will report directly to the Marketing Manager, and they will provide the opportunity for development in addition to leadership, support and guidance.

The Candidate

We are looking for an enthusiastic, articulate and highly capable, customer-centric individual to join the team as a Marketing Executive. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of core marketing principles, combined with good digital skills and experience supporting and delivering integrated marketing campaigns.

They will be confident adapting tone, messaging and content to ensure campaigns resonate authentically with different audiences, while maintaining a consistent brand identity. The successful candidate will be organised, proactive and able to manage their time independently, with the ability to work across multiple campaigns and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

The candidate will have solid previous marketing experience, with a good understanding of both traditional and digital marketing activity. This may include supporting digital campaigns, social media, email marketing, content creation and other online activity, alongside wider marketing initiatives and event-based activity.

Working closely with the wider marketing team, the Marketing Executive will support the planning, coordination and delivery of campaigns in line with the overall marketing and event strategy. They will contribute to setting and achieving key campaign objectives and metrics, while helping to ensure activity is delivered effectively, on time and to a high standard.

We are looking for someone with strong all-round marketing experience and a confident digital skill set. A degree in Marketing, Communications or a similar discipline would be advantageous, alongside proven experience in executing marketing campaigns and supporting social media and digital activity. This role would suit someone who enjoys a varied marketing environment and can seamlessly combine digital activity with wider marketing initiatives and on-site event activity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of customer-centric marketing strategies via information gathering
  • Contribute to the delivery of multi-channel marketing campaigns on time and to budget
  • Create compelling content across channels including website, email, social, print and digital
  • Maintain and update event websites. Optimising customer journeys using tools such as Clarity and GA4
  • Plan, implement and analyse engaging email campaigns
  • Support the delivery of end-to-end paid digital campaigns across search, display, and social, managing budgets and optimising performance to drive registrations.
  • Support organic and paid social media activity and design.
  • Write clear design briefs and collaborate with the creative team to deliver campaign assets
  • Build strong relationships with partners, sponsors, media, influencers and exhibitors
  • Act as a point of contact with the PR agency
  • Liaise with Marketing Operations and report on campaign performance, providing insight and recommendations
  • Support onsite marketing and event delivery during live events.

Knowledge, Skills & Behaviours

  • Experience of implementing successful multi-channel campaigns
  • Excellent attention to detail, strong copy writing, proofing and analytical skills.
  • Experience of building email campaigns and marketing automation (knowledge of Pardot ideal)
  • Knowledge of design and print processes.
  • Solid grounding/understanding of the core marketing disciplines and what each can deliver.
  • Digital marketing knowledge including social media, content marketing
  • Creative skills role will involve use of canva
  • Knowledge of the latest digital trends and social features (i.e. TikTok). PPC, Display, Paid Social
  • Experience with SEO, Google AdWords & Analytics, Website Content Management, Social Media, Later, Mobile Apps, Video, Blogs.
  • Understanding of customer data platforms and segmentation techniques (knowledge of Treasure Data ideal)
  • Understanding of tracking and response reporting
  • Understanding of databases and customer journey segmentation techniques.
  • An understanding of the consumer markets is ideal, but not essential.
