Marketing Executive - Designer

About Tech Educators

Tech Educators provide instructor-led courses built around real industry needs. We help people build the skills, confidence, and self-belief to move into work-ready careers in tech. As we grow, we stay committed to the same standard of teaching and outcomes that got us here.

Main purpose of the job

The Marketing Executive - Designer coordinates and leads the Tech Educators design studio: the single point in the business where design requests are received, prioritised, and delivered. The post holder creates and manages our design system and uses it to build creative assets for every marketing channel, from web pages and social content to presentations, course learning resources, and email campaigns.

This is a hands-on creative role for someone who enjoys designing marketing assets. It sits within a small marketing team and works closely with colleagues across the business, so the post holder will balance their own creative ideas with a steady flow of requests from course, sales, and programme teams. Email marketing is a current gap in the team, and the post holder will support the design of our email activity.

How the role is split

The split below is a guide to where time is spent across a typical month. It will flex around campaigns, course launches, and events.

  • Design studio and design systems - 60%
  • Email marketing design - 25%
  • Events, performance, and wider team - 15%

Duties and responsibilities

Design system and brand

  • Create, document, and maintain the Tech Educators design system in Figma (or a design tool you are proficient in): colour, typography, spacing, iconography, imagery guidance, and reusable components for web, email, social, presentations, and learning resources.
  • Act as brand guardian for Tech Educators and the TechYouth brand, keeping online and offline material visually consistent.
  • Build and maintain a library of approved templates (Figma, Canva, Google Slides, and HubSpot) so colleagues can produce routine materials on brand without needing the studio.
  • Make accessibility part of the system from the start, meeting WCAG colour contrast, type size, and alt text standards, and carry out regular accessibility checks on published material.
  • Review and sign off design thinking and quality before work is passed to the design or the software development team.

Design studio and helpdesk

  • Run the design request process for the business: receive briefs, clarify requirements, agree priorities and turnaround times with the CMO, and keep requesters updated.
  • Manage a varied workload of requests, tracking progress in our project tool (ClickUp) and flagging capacity pressures early.
  • Coach colleagues on using templates and brand assets well, so that the studio's time goes on work that needs a designer.
  • Brief and manage external suppliers such as printers, merchandise providers, photographers, and videographers when required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Creative asset production

The post holder will design and build creative assets across our channels, including:

  • Web: page layouts, landing pages, and web graphics designed in Figma (or other design tool), ready for handover to software development, with SEO and content hierarchy in mind.
  • Social media: static, carousel, and short motion or animated content for LinkedIn and Meta, with input into the content calendar.
  • Presentations: branded slide decks for internal use, sales and business development, partners, and events.
  • Learning resources: course slide templates, workbooks, handouts, and other learner-facing materials, designed to be clear, accessible, and easy for instructors to use.
  • Print and promotional: flyers, banners, printed course materials, and merchandise.
  • Bring original creative ideas to campaigns, not only execute briefs.
  • Use AI tools (including Gemini and Claude) to support ideation and speed up production, while keeping quality and brand standards high.

Email marketing design

  • Support the design of Tech Educators' email marketing, building a set of modular, on-brand email templates in HubSpot that follow the design system.
  • Design campaign creative for newsletters, course promotions, event invitations, and nurture sequences, working with colleagues on copy and messaging.
  • Give particular focus to email campaigns supporting TechFirst Youth.
  • Review and improve existing templates to increase engagement and drive action, testing rendering across devices and email clients.
  • Support simple A/B tests of email and landing page design, and share what the results show.
  • Database segmentation and data management are handled elsewhere in the team; the post holder will work with the colleague responsible so that design and audience targeting line up.

Events

  • Produce design deliverables for industry events and conferences: presentation decks, printable resources, banners, flyers, and promotional and merchandise products.
  • Design email and digital communications for events.
  • Support, alongside other team members, management of the events mailbox.
  • Support videography and photography briefings when required.

Performance and continuous improvement

  • Contribute a design perspective to monthly marketing reporting, with clear recommendations on what to change.
  • Keep design practice current through competitor and design trend analysis, including the use of motion and animation where it adds value.
  • When necessary, support CMO with analysis to show how creative is performing using the TE Dashboard, Google Analytics (GA4), and HubSpot email reporting.
