Marketing Executive - Ebury

Are you a creative, adaptable and organised self-starter with strong communication skills?

We’re looking for a Marketing Executive at Ebury, to work across our non-fiction and entertainment publishing, focusing on audience-first idea generation and delivering impactful book marketing campaigns that drive sales.

Ebury’s unique hub model blends editorial, publicity and marketing, and feeds on idea generation and collaboration across every area of the team. We invest in and value our creative and open culture. This role will sit in our Spotlight Hub, with a focus on entertainment and pop culture but will also stretch into other areas such as self-help and lifestyle publishing.

About the team

Ebury is the UK’s largest dedicated non-fiction publisher. We are home to bestselling authors ranging from Yotam Ottolenghi to Molly-Mae Hague, Gabor Maté to Charlie Mackesy. We are a dynamic and agile team, constantly discovering new talent, creating bestsellers, and growing author brands.

The role

As part of the Ebury Communications team, you’ll help take our books to new audiences, working closely with authors, agents, editors, publicity, sales and international to deliver engaging and joined-up marketing activity.

Day to day, you’ll liaise with authors as well as our Sales, Editorial and Design teams to create stand out marketing campaigns that generate social media buzz, word of mouth excitement, pre-orders and book sales. Our Communications team’s main role is to connect our books, brands and authors to the right audience, you’ll reflect this in your ideas, strategy, plan and campaign content. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your marketing skills. You’ll create promotional materials, execute digital-first campaigns and deal with brand and media partners for our books.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver creative, audience-focused marketing campaigns that generate excitement, drive pre-orders and increase book sales.
  • Work closely with authors and collaborate with Editorial, Sales and Design teams to bring campaigns to life.
  • Help create standout campaigns that build social media buzz and encourage word-of-mouth recommendations.
  • Develop campaign strategies and marketing plans that connect our books, brands and authors with the right audiences.
  • Create engaging promotional materials across a range of print and digital channels.
  • Execute digital-first marketing campaigns across owned, earned and paid platforms.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with external brand partners and media partners to maximise campaign reach.
  • Monitor campaign performance and contribute ideas to continually improve marketing activity.
  • Support the wider Communications team with campaign planning, administration and the delivery of high-impact marketing initiatives.
  • Keep up to date with marketing trends, digital platforms and consumer behaviour to bring fresh ideas to campaigns.

What you’ll bring

Essential criteria:

  • A genuine enthusiasm for marketing, with creative ideas and a proactive approach to developing engaging campaigns.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously, prioritising your workload effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A self-motivated, organised and flexible approach to work, with strong attention to detail.
  • A good understanding of social media platforms and how to engage different audiences through digital marketing.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the confidence to share ideas and provide constructive feedback.
  • The ability to build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, influencers, brands and external partners.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • An understanding of how to create audience-focused, target-driven marketing campaigns.
  • Previous experience in publishing, marketing, social media, broadcasting, a creative agency, a start-up environment, or another relevant field, or transferable experience that demonstrates the skills required for the role.
  • A passion for books, popular culture or wellbeing, and an enthusiasm for reaching new readers through creative marketing.

Salary

Circa £30,000 dependent on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits.

Hybrid working

While our offices across the UK are places to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, we recognise that flexibility around where you work is just as important.

For this role we expect the successful candidate to work from our London-based office three days per week, on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays, and offer the remaining two days to be worked remotely.
