I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Job Description
In this role, you will work at the very heart of the marketing activity, operating core tools and channels for their website, blogs/vlogs, email marketing, generating content for social media, and other, more traditional marketing activities.
Important Note
Akessa Healthcare Group does not offer hybrid working. The role is designed for an energetic, enthusiastic, and able candidate and not applicants who wish to slow down. Only candidates looking for a long-term position and clear career development goals will be considered for the role. There are ample opportunities for personal development and career progression within our hospital group. This role is a standalone role based in our Head Office at South Bar Street, Banbury, so an ideal candidate would be someone who can work independently much of the time rather than as a part of a large marketing team. However, the wider hospital group does employ a number of CEO, IT, and marketing professionals for exchange of ideas and collaboration purposes.
Previous experience in marketing is an essential requirement for the post.
