About PlantSea
PlantSea is a materials science company developing a seaweed-based biopolymer as a plastic-free, biodegradable alternative to PVOH, the film used in laundry capsules and dishwasher tablets. The company operates from Liverpool Science Park and the OpTIC Technology Centre in St Asaph, with a team of around 15, and is supported by impact investors.
The Role
PlantSea is building its marketing function and is looking for a part-time Marketing Executive to deliver day-to-day activity across social media, events and campaigns. This is a broad, hands-on role in a growing sustainability business, working three days per week from our Liverpool office.
The Marketing Executive will report to [name, title] and work closely with the commercial team, R&D and external agency partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, create and schedule content for PlantSea's social media channels, with a focus on LinkedIn, and report on performance
- Coordinate PlantSea's presence at trade shows, conferences and industry events, including logistics, materials and follow-up
- Support the planning and delivery of marketing campaigns and announcements, from brief to evaluation
- Write and edit copy for newsletters, case studies and sales materials
- Maintain brand consistency across all channels and materials
- Manage marketing contacts and campaign data in the CRM, working closely with business development

Essential Experience and Skills
- Some experience in marketing, communications or a related role, through employment, a placement or internship
- Confident managing social media for a business, with an understanding of what works on LinkedIn
- Excellent writing skills and a good eye for detail
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage several projects and deadlines at once
- Comfortable with design tools such as Canva and with standard productivity software
- Willingness to travel to events in the UK and occasionally overseas
- A genuine interest in sustainability and the reduction of plastic in consumer products

Desirable
- A degree in Marketing, Communications, Business or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience of B2B marketing, ideally in FMCG, packaging or a technical sector
- Event coordination experience
- Familiarity with CRM systems or email marketing platforms
- Basic photography or video editing skills
